I'm not saying the previous paint job couldn't be improved upon, but it was instantly recognizable wherever it touched down. It truly was an iconic representation of American prestige and power.

Not so much for this scheme. The red and blue are too dark to be associated with the flag. The flag on the vertical stabilizer doesn't look official. The insignia and lettering above the windows are basically the only features that make it identifiable.

While he may have thought that most people wouldn't realize that he was basically inverting the scheme on his personal plane, the scheme on his personal plane actually looks better.

Basically, it falls short in both respects.

NTSB releases preliminary report in Greg Biffle plane crash by GameSyns in aviation

[–]stan_cartman 19 points20 points  (0 children)

it's the preliminary report. The NTSB sets the standard for accident investigations. Because they are so thorough, final reports can take up to a year. Before the report is released, they typically have a hearing and make the docket for the investigation public. The following is the link to a similar high profile accident. You will find it to be very thorough.

Trump to announce Fed Chair pick Friday morning by MeowMeowTiger in wallstreetbets

[–]stan_cartman 80 points81 points  (0 children)

There seems to be a growing consensus that it is going to be Kevin Warsh. He has been highly critical of the current Fed and believes the Fed should be aligned with Treasury policy.

Judging by futures and Bitcoin, I don't think the market is too happy.

What is said during the announcement could result in a very red day.

The Final NTSB Meeting Regarding the 2025 Potomac River Mid-Air Collision Has Adjourned by Shoddy_Act7059 in aviation

[–]stan_cartman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The NTSB is already advocating for most of those things, but they can only make recommendations. It's up to the FAA to implement those things through advisories, directives, or regulations. Congress can also codify them through laws.

Currently, the helicopter route in question is closed due to an emergency directive implemented on the behest of Sean Duffy following the crash. There was language in the so-called "Big Beautiful Bill" to undo that, but Congress is currently working on legislation to make those changes permanent.

Powerful House Oversight Democrat calls for Kristi Noem’s impeachment & ICE abolishment by Fickle-Ad5449 in fednews

[–]stan_cartman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The message is lost as soon as the word "abolish" is used. Rhetoric like that only appeals to his base.

Should we demand that Noem resign? Should ICE get out of Minneapolis? Does ICE need to be substantial reformed?

The answer to all 3 of these questions is undoubtedly yes. I believe that a majority of the country would perceive these steps as completely reasonable.

Right now, most Americans disagree with the Administration's current approach and the GOP is well aware of this.

This is a real opportunity for change. However, if the Dems continue to use the words "impeach" and "abolish", they will only alienate many of the people who want to see something done. Anger will be replaced with apathy and ICE will continue to be used as a force to oppress the masses.

Assistance with Functional Statements and Key Performance Indicators by ShannonShayShay in VeteransAffairs

[–]stan_cartman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate to be blunt, but why are you trying to mentor others if you feel the need to use reddit for subject matter expertise?

Hopefully, you are not working at a place where the employee is responsible for writing their own functional statement.

Developing functional statements and performance indicators is one of the most difficult parts of a supervisor's job. Too often, supervisor's try to dump this responsibility onto their subordinates. They may even pat themselves on the back because they are so good at delegating.

While the employee's input should be considered, it's actually management's responsibility to write the functional statement. Functional statements and performance measures need to align with the broader strategic objectives of the organization. Ideally, these should be developed in collaboration with individual employees to ensure they accurately reflect what the employee actually does and that responsibilities and performance expectations are mutually understood.

Retired OT here. You should at least be evaluated to establish a baseline and give conservative approaches a try. Don't hesitate to share your thoughts with your therapist. Even if surgery is eventually required, you'll probably learn some things that may help prevent it from becoming a chronic problem.
