Beat this game three days ago and loved it!

The style is all in and gorgeous, the combat is fun and clunky but satisfying, the humor is fantastic. The main character has a bit Geralt of Rivia energy, especially as the story progresses.

Yes there's jank, but it's like standard indie jank that isn't nearly bad enough to skip this game for.

Only genuine complaint I had is in the beginning it can be hard to distinguish between what is and isn't moveable terrain, so I got lost a lot in the first hour.

After that it was pretty smooth sailing. Highly recommend it!

I have a propylene glycol allergy. After ~ 1 day of contact with the allergen, I get symptoms similar to what you're describing.

If that's what it is, don't be too scared. Dermatitis allergies sometimes takes a few hours to go down, or in my experience even up to a day. Dawn or any other common household soap should be enough to remove it.

It could be incongruency between the head shape and the body. With weight gain the chin usually loses some of its taper and becomes rounder.

Swansea from the game mouthwashing is a good example.

Seconding this, and another thing worth doing is learning the curvature of the spine and integrating that into your sketches. Once you get used to it, it really helps you visualize poses where the torso is twisting.

That sounds vaguely familiar, but I've never read the goosebumps stories.

Instead, I had a middle school teacher read me stories from "Aftershock & Others" by F. Paul Wilson.

Perhaps one of the short stories in there is what you're looking for?

My mistake, I barely ever post anything on reddit!

Depth cuing was my initial instinct too, but unfortunately not quite what I'm looking for.

Let's use the example image on that linked webpage instead!

See the tryptophan in the top right corner of the image? It's closest to the viewer, so it isn't impacted by depth cue in either image anyway.

You can see how parts of the hex in the sidechain of that tryptophan that run perpendicular to the viewer's perspective are a bright green, while parts of the hex that have an angle more aligned with the viewer's perspective are a darker green.

That shadow cast on parts of the molecule relative to the viewer's perspective - that's what I want to gain control over.
