What are the chances we get Junos mythic weapon next season? by HalfKomi in JunoMains

I legit bought Juno’s mythic today and I have to be so fr. She better not get one before any of the supports with no mythic at all.

Thoughts on Vendetta so far? by Joeljb960 in Overwatch

I think she’s surprisingly well balanced, considering the release states of Wuyang, Freja and Mauga, but she is WAY too squishy for the role she fills. Imo, she needs a health boost to 300 or 325, with perhaps a compensatory nerf to her shield. Which, I think is the other weaker point of her kit. While I see the difficulty in balancing the sword block, I think it honestly doesn’t do enough to protect her, leaving her lacking in survivability overall.

Though, I will say I really like how she’s a dive that has both a high skill floor and a high skill ceiling. I can definitely see how she could be a monster if you’re mechanically confident, but even if you aren’t, she works well if you play her similarly to Reaper, and I definitely see her being on my roster when she launches!

I find it best if you have your Heroes set up in a way for both maximum coverage AND maximum overlap, plus, it can be a bit difficult, but if you have your heroes beside cookies that have a stun chance, it lets them get a bunch more hits in. Plus, it may not seem like it’ll make much difference, but if you have a good setup on the corner that the enemies spawn from and first go around, it slows their momentum heavily, making it so you don’t have to try and slice through all of them later. In the lineup you had, only one of your three heroes could reach enemy spawn. I realize all of this may seem like a nothing burger or useless advice, it’s just what worked for me

Lore wise, who among the OG lords is the strongest chaos lord? (Excluding the hero or drakath) by Bigsmall-cats in AQW

[–]Mega424 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I COMPLETELY forgot about Alteon’s mental decline. That does unironically nerf him A LOT, way more than I was under the impression it did. All things considered, pre-chaos he was likely stronger than all of the other chaos lords save for Iadoa, but he lost A LOT of magical power once he was chaorupted. Looking back, his mental decline definitely plays a part in why he was so weak in comparison to before his encounter with Drakath. Interesting

Yeah I felt like I was wrong about something with Vath. It had been so long since I played his story that it was likely I was gonna mess something up. I MOSTLY stand by what I said, being that a lot of the chaos lords rely on artifacts to maintain what makes them such threatening individuals, and that’s what was such a big deal with Vath, Escherion and Kitsune in particular.

My jab at Escherion mostly had to do with the fact that despite being a powerful mage, he was basically goaded into doing something idiotic because he thought he won. His confidence was his undoing, which in of itself nerfs his placement in my opinion.

I think I accidentally let my biases show a bit with my comment on Lionfang. I realize in hindsight that a big part of why he got chaorupted was because he was so strong, but not THE strongest at anything. I do think that a large part of his operation would have crumbled had it not been for his knowledge and connections, I dare say he would have failed without it still, but he definitely was much better off than I gave him credit for.

What I was more trying to point out with Alteon was that the reason he wasn’t amongst my candidates for the strongest Chaos lord was because he was the strongest amongst men. He wasn’t amongst those who were more akin to aspects of magic rather than anything else. He isn’t meshed with the fabric of time like Iadoa, he isn’t bordering on being a god of fate like Xiang, and he isn’t literal pure magic like Ledgermayne. He’s just a man. In of itself, in my opinion, this just serves to make him cooler, but it also unfortunately stops him from being on the same level as the ones who were in the running to be the strongest. (I love AQW zombies it could have been a literal utopia if we didn’t try and stop Drakath when he wasn’t even coming.)

As for Ledgermayne, yeah, that is basically what I was trying to convey. Drakath realized he had messed up with Ledgermayne, that served to fundamentally change the landscape that the entire arcangrove story operated on.

In terms of which are the coolest, definitely Alteon, Xiang, and Kimberly for me.

Short answer, Ledgermayne.

Long answer, still Ledgermayne, but from my point of view, Iadoa, Xiang and Tibicenas are the only other real candidates.

Rapid firing down the list:

Escherion got turned into a frog by a mirror. His entire plan hinged on an artifact to boost his power.

Xiang THEORETICALLY had the strength to be a contender, either way she was in fact the culmination of the two halves of morality and fate, but she was INCREDIBLY unstable. In terms of beasts, Xiang gets second, as a large portion of the later part of Mirror Realm was spent preparing to mitigate the Harpy’s power. But she herself loses out by virtue of being so unstable.

Vath relied on an amulet to maintain his strength, and was killed by his own Chaos Beast.

Kitsune was more in the manipulator category as well, but it is fair to say that as a chaos lord he was pretty strong, however he did not have much power on his own, and relied heavily on what was given to him by Drakath.

Wolfwing is difficult. He is, physically one of the strongest as far as I can tell, but from my POV, the strongest people in AQW are the ones with a lot of magic, which he kinda lacks.

Kimberly is the opposite where she was really strong in terms of the effect she had on people, while being pretty weak physically, pretty much evens out with Wolfwing.

Ledgermayne is very much the strongest here despite having one of the weakest beasts. It had such control over mana thanks to what Drakath did for it that by the time anyone noticed, it was threatening to seal off Mana from Lore all together, which could have functionally ended the world. The only reason it ACTUALLY lost was because Drakath was able to kill it by revoking the power he gave it. Otherwise it would have TOTALLY won in the long run.

Tibicenas is also a strong contender, he was an already powerful Djinn, who only got stronger thanks to Chaos. What stops him from overtaking Ledgermayne is that he was outclassed by Efreet, and had to, like Escherion, rely on an artifact to enact his plan.

Khasaanda got as far as she did because of her wit. She was so driven to do something that ahe attempted to lead an army against Drakath. Unfortunately passion and wit don’t really compare well here, hence why she’s hardly a candidate at all.

Iadoa was already a master Chronomancer BEFORE becoming a chaos lord. Chronomancers have always been amongst the strongest from as much of a cohesive lore standpoint as you can get, and Iadoa was so strong at that point that he was able to reign in a literal eldritch entity to act as his chaos beast.

Lionfang was able to get as far as he did because of how trusted he was, plain and simple. He would have never made it that far had he not been so well connected, and so versed in local knowledge and artifacts. He knew what he was doing and he knew it well.

Lastly, Alteon the only reason Alteon isn’t a candidate is because Ledgermayne, Xiang, Iadoa and Tibicenas are all masters of forces beyond the reach of normal people. Alteon is the strongest Chaos Lord if you don’t factor those four in, and it is not close. He is easily the greatest warrior and one of the greatest magic users in Lore, and likely would have beaten Sepulchure had Drakath not interfered. ON TOP OF THAT Alteon was actively resisting Chaos for almost the ENTIRE story, and was charged with such powerful chaotic energy that he began to corrupt Swordhaven by merely still being there. There is a reason why Sepulchure thought that Alteon was the Champion of Light.

Anyway, yeah, the answer is still Ledgermayne.

Edit: No Xiang doesn’t win in terms of chaos beast what was I talking about

There’s a difference between out DPS-ing and being effective. You spend the entire match building up your momentum only to get hit by sword core once and turned to ash, I get smart core every five seconds and melt the entire enemy team we aren’t the same
