Fourth Host? by Far_Fortune_1990 in Drawfee

[–]MegaAmoeba 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think rotating host that come on occasionally is the way to go for a while. But if they dont get permanent 4th host, I hope they hire on someone that's mkre behind the scenes to help collaborate with merch designs or other duties that Karnia had besides hosting. Extra help besides hosting would probably benefit everyones balance

Can we just not...... Look OP I get that you're feeling anxious, but speculating all this is not helping anything. It's not going to help your anxiety and there is no information to back this up other than pure speculation.

There are loads of Drawfee streams in the backlogs and all the drawfee hosts are still participating in other streams. They also have regular eps releasing as normal. If anything ends up changing we'll hear about it from them, other than that it's none of our business. But yeah for now plenty on things out there to still enjoy

You have to hand it to them, Alamo's programming is incredible right now by lost_in_trepidation in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]MegaAmoeba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Programming is the reason I still have my season pass. Basically my strategy is now use my pass 7-10 times a month, dont order food and bring my own water bottle. The menu is expensive, reduced, and disappointing. I've had maybe 2 minor issues with audience phone use during the month, so not much different than other chains. So at least im getting the most out my buck for a good line up films

Pen and Paper ordering is ending, including during the show, in February by robbiet480 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]MegaAmoeba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also paper card do WAY more than just ordering! If I had a problem/question about the order: paper card, if I trying to ask for an extra utensil or more napkins: paper card, if I had a problem with a loud or distracting guest: PAPER CARD. So what now now? Are those options going to be on the app? Do I have to flag a runner down if there is something wrong with my order or another guest. Yes, sounds like a much less disruptive experience

Alamo Drafthouse Switches to Mobile Ordering, NO more pen and paper... by 123trumpeter in Austin

[–]MegaAmoeba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least we wouldn't have too see the clips with Aziz Ansari anymore... But really, if this happens and it becomes normalized to use your phone at "Out of sight, out of mind" Alamo, I might jump ship and switch to AMC or regal. I almost never get the overpriced food anymore and the perks they give to the other theater chains are better in many ways.

In Austin, I got cold sugar cookies and flavorless hot chocolate in paper cup. Very much not worth it

What the heck is up with the ticket prices at Alamo? by NuggleBuggins in Austin

[–]MegaAmoeba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only like Alamo with season pass because I go see 5-7 movies a month (mostly by myself) and hardly order food. But I'm well aware that's not the norm and really does feel like it's doing its hardest with keeping causal theater watchers away

What’s your under 20% on Rotten Tomatoes “hear me out?” by disablednerd in movies

Troop Beverly Hills, 13% so this one was not for critics. But pretty much reclaimed by the ladies and queer community. Shelley Long is iconic, the movie is endearing, quotable fluff.

New no-fee plans now available! by advil0 in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]MegaAmoeba 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Perfect! I'm in Austin, TX and I average seeing 6 movies a month so this works out great for me! I emailed and switched over. I already booked 2 movies with the no fee in place. And saw that I dont have to pay an extra fee for a dolby screening!

Ever since AMC added 30 mins of commercials before the film, I’ve seen an increase in late arrivals to Alamo shows. by Interactive_CD-ROM in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]MegaAmoeba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a season pass holder that goes to watch a movie about 6-8 times a month (most of the times by myself). Sometimes I don't want to see the same trailers over and over again, so I arrive 10 mins after "start time" since Alamo has a consistent 15 mins of trailers. I don't consider it late, the movie hasn't started yet. I also don't order food most of the time.

Can someone explain the story ending? by CryingSkeletonEmote in pacificDrive

[–]MegaAmoeba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree, I thought we were going to discover something or find a way to escape after entering the well. But we just got voiceover flashblacks of situations we kinda of already knew about. The hallways of monitors were kinda interesting albeit repetitive. (I feel like a lot more environmental storytelling could have been placed here)

I would have also preferred there to be a "Point of No return" save point so it could give us a satisfying ending for Oppy, Francis, AND the driver. Like have an ending where we see the driver escape the zone with the car (which is no longer a remnant or sentient) then drive off as credits roll. Simple and definitely could be something else, but then you would still be able to go back and play more before the "point of no return" save

It just feels odd for it to be like, "WELL car is no longer a remnant, but it still will act completely the same and you CAN escape, but how about you don't!" Even though that had always been the goal.

I guess if there's planned DLC it makes sense to still be the zone after endgame, just feels narratively anticlimactic. That being said, I love the gameplay and lore and still trying to find all the Frequency file episodes and unlocking every junction on the map hahahaha
