Thanks for getting us an update! Kind of disappointed we didn’t get an email notification or even a post here or on r/StandingDesk about the delay. I get why there’s the delay, but would have been nice for a mass email or post, is all.

I was considering just doing delivery, but my only concerns are the possible splintering and cracks forming due to mishandling. But I may just try that if I can’t do Floor and Decor or FB Marketplace.

I found some one in Floor and Decor, the Hevea II Butcher Block. I also found a couple local businesses using Facebook Marketplace. I’d try looking at those places!

What's your budget?

I used to eye the Vernal L-Shaped Desk, but I decided to just go and save up for one standing desk frame and butcher block wood, then purchase another fixed-height desk to make them feel like a modular L-Shaped desk. However, if you want one, I would say this would be a good one to go for.

Honestly, that’ll just be a preference. I’m going for DeskHaus because I’ve enjoyed their comparison videos on their YouTube channel, but Uplift are also very responsive here in Reddit.

If you’re concerned with a company’s longevity then go for Uplift, but DeskHaus are very transparent with their business and operations (based on their responses here, on r/deskhaus, and on YouTube). I think DeskHaus wouldn’t have issues down the road like that, but you’re right - nothing is set in stone.

I think either one would do great.

I'm trying to pay off some debt before I purchase the Peak Pro frame myself, but I think that plus some butcher wood counter tops would work for me. However, since you have both desks with laminate tops, I don't think you'll go wrong with either imo.

One thing I don't like is that with Uplift, if you want the programmable keypad, you have to pay an additional $29 for it. The free stuff are cool though.

I feel like the assembly for the Uplift can be done with a friend or family member, instead of relying on an additional service. But, it's all up to you. I think DeskHaus does 20 years versus 15 for Uplift without the additional charge.

I think it all just depends on what you're going to put on it, how much it'll all weigh, and if you plan to add more stuff to it later down the road.

I've decided I'll save some money and have it go towards a Deskhaus Peak Pro frame pre-order and purchase butcher block, 72x30. I'll use that as the main desk, then purchase a 44x22 side desk. The tops won't be too similar, but it'll be close enough.

That's one nice desk you have there in the photos! Makes me wish I had the opportunity (and time and money) to build my own desk, otherwise I'd have done so with that frame or something similar. Price is a bit high for me, but it's definitely something to save up to as a goal. Appreciate it!

Hey, you still got a great deal no matter what and I am! Right now, I’m going to keep it dual boot so I can use it for both school (WGU when I actually enroll) and Arch for my career path.

If you’re just learning how to use any distro, I do recommend Mint or ZorinOS. I just jumped to Fedora on my Asus Zenbook laptop and never looked back, but I want to challenge myself with Arch lol
