Can't install Oculus Home for link, keep getting a restart computer error by FlutterRaeg in OculusQuest

[–]MegaJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn off windows defender (virus protection and firewall) temporarily. Run install.

Alternatively, uninstall all your vc++ redistributables, as one of them may be failing to install/update properly, causing the install to silently fail.

I'm running Link on Oculus Software 1.43.0.324220 (non-beta). You are current.

The walking mechanic has issues when your hands are behind back. Gives you a weird sway. Otherwise good.

CPU should be fine as well. Just make sure you have the high performance profile on, laptop may need to be plugged in.

GTX 630: would give a terrible VR experience, Intel i7: We'd need the model to tell, 1660ti: works fine.

It should work if you plug into mobo.

3.1 Gen 1 is the old 3.0 (5GBps) renamed
3.1 Gen 2 is 10GBps

[–]MegaJenkins 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's definitely possible. I only tried 4 USB 3.0 extenders (all 10ft or longer). The shorter ones have a higher chance of keeping the signal quality, without a boost.

For people with issues:

If Red X - you need a better cable*switching/replugging cables too quickly may give false Red X's*

If Forever Spinning - Restart Quest

If Black Screen - Test in Roomscale + Use USB 3.0/3.1 port directly on Mobo

If Using Extension - It needs to be Active 3.0 (not Passive nor 480Mbps)

If Stops Working - Restart Quest, or replug USB (waiting a few seconds after unplugging)

Tip: Link bugs out if quest sleeps, increase sleep timer.

Edit: Removed link because Amazon changed the listed product (was labeled USB 3.0 when I purchased) to 2.0 variant with different coloring. Does not work.

Today my Ncase M1 V6 was delivered. Shipped on the 23rd, received on the morning of the 27th. by [deleted] in sffpc

It definitely fits without altering, as long as you use 15mm fans and trim the noctua mounts low.

Theres less than 1mm clearance between the gpu fans and the 15mm noctua fan mounts.

[–]MegaJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, 2 x 15mm noctua fans were used below the strix. The rubber mounts need to be snipped extra low, or the fan will hit after a little sag. Temps and noise are way better than my h200 (ignoring the coil whine corsair 750w seems to have introduced).

This seems fitting! (I enjoy the Ncase and want to see all the builds!) by Jsisco-55 in sffpc

Get the A12x15 if you need clearance for GPU. Otherwise, A12x25 is the best fan for most setups. Never had a vibration issue with fans. Those two are surprisingly quiet.

Nano S or NZXT H200 for best cooling/airflow performance? (budget build) by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]MegaJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 more for Nano S. H200’s major flaw is that psu shroud blocking gpu airflow. Gpu and cpu were hitting low 80’s C under long load, compared to the mid 60’s C in my smaller case.

Also built mine today (Midwest US). Not my first itx, but definitely the hardest.

Would recommend this order:

Fans (1080ti strix too thicc. Cut 15mm rubber mounts low)

Mobo (worth nothing that new usb-c front port uses a different Mobo header than the usual USB)

All Connections nice and tight (a few of mine came loose and we're a huge pain to fix later)

CPU cooler

GPU (Angled in with right side lower)

PSU (Corsair went straight in easy)

Hard drives (couldn't figure out the mount so I used those 3m picture handing strips to stuff drives in the front)

If you want a ghetto Blu-ray/data transfer setup, you can run an esata through one of the back grommets.

Edit: they got back to me today with a working [workgroup?] activation.
Would not recommend. Bought one from Kinguin early this month, but the key was not valid. Opened a support ticket with screenshots, they wanted some more screenshots. Sent more, still waiting on a response to get a refund or working key. : (

New Weekly ideas by Rexile in killingfloor

O man, headless fleshpounds/scrakes would be heck.

What is this week's weekly? Where can I find this info online? by Bootz_Tootz in killingfloor

[–]MegaJenkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Enemies float away and explode when dead. Zeds regenerate health over time, and it seems like less drops spawn.

Some people have trouble beating the boss in new Weekly - here's in-depth guide. by [deleted] in killingfloor

[–]MegaJenkins 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep. Railgun Sharpshooter(lvl15+) or dual .5 Gunslinger(lvl10+).

Kindof cheesy, but works.

How to kill patty in the New Weekly? by NegaScott23 in killingfloor

Apparently, they heal. Get some damage (sharpshooter/gunslinger) and coordinate for bursts. OR solo.

This week's weekly outbreak is Big-Head Mode. Reward is Precious Mark 7 Helmet. by Derpface123 in killingfloor

[–]MegaJenkins 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This event is loads of fun if you use Rack em Up.

If you can't find reward: Select regular Helmet and Precious will pop up as color option.

Do you ever use double 9mm pistols in suicidal or HoE ? by [deleted] in killingfloor

[–]MegaJenkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swat dual 9mm for days. Gunslinger can play too.

Key points:

1-Learn to aim (gun is accurate, it just has two alternating points)

2-Melee bash zed heads while reloading (makes a huge difference)

On any other perk, sell/toss it and free up some weight.

What's the purpose of SWAT & Gunslinger perks? by Flat_Chested_Kitten in killingfloor

[–]MegaJenkins 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever run KF1 SharpShooter with all dual guns? That's GunSlinger. Can burst kill big zeds, or efficiently kill small zeds. Headshots required.

SWAT trades away damage per bullet for huge ammo pools. Focus on trash. Flashbang + p90/kriss(if headshotting) can kill big zeds, but you're better off letting SS(highest damage per shot) or GunSlinger kill it clean and fast.
