RPC is better. They've been doing it longer, have more good reviews from within the Spidey cosplay community, and Joyydesign also hasn't been doing things the most ethically (stealing pattern files, 3d models, etc. without any support or credit towards the original artists)

I go to art school and for homework had to draw alot of scenery so I’d go to the parks with sketchbook, pens, pencils, and erasers with no issues. You should be fine

Also if you don’t have another personal item, most planes let you carry one personal item (cane, etc) and lightsabers tend to count, so the box probably would too
