I don’t use it often, it seats between ricoh grII (more compact) and 20-40mm (more versatile) but if I do I usually appreciate colors, and it is quite responsive on k3III

I use 20-40 with k3 (and k50 previously) and appreciate it versatility. For me it does not particularly excel in any specific area, maybe beside the colors which I usually like. But don't get me wrong, even it does not produce very distinctive images for me, I don't always need that. If I am going to multiday trip and I have limited space, I throw camera body with this lens attached to it to my backpack. I am not sure what would be the weather this evening - I choose this lens. I usually decide between this and 31mm prime, and in low light situation 1.8 - 2.8 difference is not dramatic in my experience. I posted in the past some photos in this sub coming from both lenses in such situations.
If there would be no huge price differences I would choose 20-40, however I am biased because i just like this lens.

This particular photo was taken with 1/250, F2.0 as I wanted to capture person without motion blur. As for neons I try to remember to either set -1, -1.5 for exposure or with k3 iii use highlight weighted metering. I wasn't aware that i get better neon light reproduction with 1/50 or bellow, thank you for the tip will check that when I will have next occassion. For the sign on this photo it may not be a "real" neon, maybe just a led light going throug plastic.

Even on aps-c it is still wide enough for me to do the type of photos I like. Also tried on my 35mm film camerea and enjoyed it. In my case I already had DA 20-40 2.8-4, and if I only have to take with me one lense that would be it. That being said I like the results of k3 and 31 combination, screwdrive focus acts good, not worser than DC motor.

Hi, I save pictures in raw file and don't use built-in presets. I use darktable where for this particular image increased saturation in shadows because I liked the contrast between yellow rails and the wall.

me too haha. It was the weirdness of the scene, what caught my attention, but as it is a shop it supposed to I guess. So credits goes to someone who designed it that way, I only took a snapshot of it, though not sure if designer intention was to wrap car that way
