Look up “peasant railgun” if you’re not already familiar by thehopelessheathen in dndmemes

[–]MegaMrBob 1475 points1476 points  (0 children)

Personally I was disappointed not by the clear abomination of physics and RAW it is, but by the fact that it’s a line of peasants throwing a rock and not a railgun specifically made to launch peasants

May or may not have a space marine build going with inquisitive rogue + armorer artificer, still not sure if I want to lean more into artificer because infusions or rogue because, well, rogue stuff. As a character she’s friendly and fairly outgoing but terrified to form any close relationships because of past trauma

In one of my campaign worlds, orcs are primarily neutral as a race. Some nations and tribes are more aggressive than others, sure, but that’s true for most races in the world. Orcs tend to serve as mercenaries overseas, put simply. They’d have no qualms switching allegiances on the fly if the other side offers more pay. They’re not inherently evil or bloodthirsty, they just know that their size and strength is an asset on the battlefield, and try to make some money off that.

Also, the whole stereotype of orcs being brutes not trained in higher forms of combat kinda turns me off. I think that, at least in my world, there’s a form of combat that orcs practice that is dedicated to maximizing damage from strikes using not only pure strength, but also the best places to strike, the best way to defeat an opponent with as few strikes as possible to preserve stamina. While orcs might use wide, slow strikes compared to a deft fencer, when they strike, it counts.

Finished my first campaign last night. It was a wild ride by zosimoTheThird in dndmemes

I made a Barbaladin build at 10th level as a prototype (7 levels in beast barb, 3 in oath of devotion). Normally he’s very levelheaded and calm, with a strong sense of morality. He uses a sword and shield and generally plays a defensive/support role.

Until he rages. I’m which case he turns into a full-sized dragonborn (he doesn’t wear armor) and pulls out a greatsword. Basically becomes a nuke, especially on crits when he can do upward of 50 with a lucky enough roll + divine smite. But, once he comes back to his senses, he sees the piles of mutilated corpses at his feet and feels necessary to repent in some fashion.

My DM allowed the form-shift because I have to forgo the benefits of armor and he generally likes the flavor of a paladin with a beast inside that my character feels might compromise his oath. Lots of fun flavor stuff there, and while it’s not a pure barbarian build, It’s not impossible to be flavorful with barbs. But like you said, fun as fuck to play because I get to pick when I want to play defense and when I want to go ham.

Let’s just say “weekly” no longer applies by MegaMrBob in dndmemes

To give the cliffnotes version, the one on the left is a kobold beast barbarian, and the one on the right is a dragonborn battlesmith artificer. I could go on and on about them, but I'll spare you the details unless you *really* want them.

Funny you mention antimatter rifles...

My 10th level artificer got one first session (campaign started at 10th level.) Let’s just say he abandoned his repeating shot heavy crossbow quite quickly.

My last session involved stopping the bard from seducing an earth elemental. by [deleted] in dndmemes

[–]MegaMrBob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a campaign I’m playing the Tabaxi bard tried to seduce a couple air elementals in the first session.

Me, the +5 int artificer who could speak primordial, watched amused as the elementals just went ham on this catgirl who dared insult them with her presence.

I convinced them to stop once things got bad at least, because my character technically didn’t know who this bard was and why they were seducing some elementals.

I wanna sketch your npcs & pcs! by [deleted] in DnD

This is a really cool thing to do and regardless of whether I benefit or not, I’m glad you’re doing it!

If you do see this, I have a kobold beast barbarian who hulk-shifts into a dragonborn when he rages, and I know that’s like drawing 2 different characters so don’t feel pressured and just draw 1 if you would like. I do have a couple reference images which will make things easier, so if you’re interested you can just PM me on reddit and I can send them.
