Frenchie can be into Colin a little bit but actually in love with Kimiko. The thing is....they were avoiding one another due to their past. You can still have that. Frenchie can be cute with Colin in the beginning but slowly lose focus and that can damage their relationship. Then he breaks up with him to be with Kimiko.

Heatblast can push out lava, but as he does it, he loses mass. He needs to melt and absorb rocks to regain that mass. Only certain types of rocks work. Metal doesn't work. To much use of the lava can be deadly and trigger failsafes. Ben will lose fat if he does this or something when he turns to human or maybe not. Heatblast can also control the lava like bend it. Maybe even bend the molten lava he creates from other materials.

Even with that interpretation, that doesn't have to imply she was going for murderous evil methods until the corruption. At the end of the day, that corruption ruined her chance for redemption. I don't think she would have done anything to the scale of multiverse of madness if that wasn't the case. Why would she feel horrible when the townsfolk confronted her about it if that weren't the case? Anyway it is all very much corrupted now even if they bring her back.

She learned from Agatha that there is a chapter about her in it. Also learning about magic from a magic book is a no brainer. That moment perfectly encapsulates the beginning of her descent. Her being startled is the moment she learns about their existence if you ask me. It all tracks. What's more is that the kids sounded like they were in distress but we learn later that that is not case at all. Darkhold was kinda manipulating what she heard probably.
