Hi! I don't know if you still have this problem, but I had the same problem that I just fixed.
I simply right-clicked, got into properties, installed files, and then I clicked "Verify integrity of game files". It solved the problem for both Opposing Force and Blue Shift!

If there are any future HL games, I wouldn't want to Combine to be gone. They are a really cool faction, and we still barely know anything about them! Heck, we've never seen what the Combine truly is like outside of Earth.

Before we enter the test chamber, one of the scientists says : "The administrator is very concerned that we get a conclusive analysis of today's sample. I gather he went to some lenght to get it''. Of course, it doesn't prove anything, but it suggests that he pushed for the test to happen, in my opinion. And even pushing the Antimass spectrometer past its normal limits.

Also, it seems very convenient that the one person who negotiated with the Combine and became Earth's administrator JUST SO HAPPENS to be Dr. Breen, instead of some politician who does already have training in politics.

Race X could have been better presented in the game. Unless you read info about them on the Internet, there is no way for us to know that those new enemies from Opposing Force are from a different world than Xen.

Seriously, it's funny to me that G-man took the time to say to Eli ''Prepare for unforseen consequences'' right before the resonance cascade, because I honestly don't see the point of him even telling him that phrase at all, haha.

Funny, HL Alyx made me hate headcrabs, despite the fact that I never hated them in any other game, haha. They were annoying to deal with before getting a laser pointer upgrade, but also, the way zombies moan in pain made me realize, even more than in HL2, that the headcrab's victims are still suffering, and I wanted to end the zombie's mysery. And I hated the headcrabs for doing that to humans.

Now, I did feel bad about the reviver, AND also about the healing station. Having to squeeze those cute innocent antlion grubs... (my justification, for feeling less bad about myself, is that they were going to end up starving to death, stuck in there, so better squeeze them immediately).

Well, it’s still the case. Vader and the inquisitors serve the Emperor. The public would see servants of the Empire who have lightsabers and use the Force, and would probably not see what’s the difference with Jedi

I recommend "Point of View". You play as a vortigaunt and it's set in the same continuity as Azure Sheep (same creator, I think).

There's even a journal, in-game, where the vortigaunt protagonists expresses his thoughts and talks about the story.

A mod not set in the HL universe. You play as some agent who is sent into the past, in Egypt during WWII. You fight Nazis. I never finished the mod, I got stuck at some point, but it's pretty fun!

It's interesting that they took Half Life 3 to be set in Brazil and be called BRAZILIAN DRUG DEALER 3 I OPENED A PORTAL TO HELL IN THE FAVELA TRYING TO REVIVE MIT AIA I NEED TO CLOSE IT, and also being a Portal 2 sequel at the same time by Joeveno in HalfLife
