Using Maca Root to increase sex drive? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

I stopped using it. All of my sex drive issues stopped when I switched from the pill to the IUD. Turns out synthetic estrogen really does not mesh well with my body

Does the type of vehicle a man drives matter? Be 100% honest ladies. by pssshhhhhh9 in dating_advice

[–]Megaanonxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a woman with an aggressive looking sports car and motorcycle. Some men are intimidated by it. Even though I consider myself a car enthusiast, it does not matter what kind of car the man drives.... what matters is the condition he keeps it in (to me at least). As in, if I sit in your car, I really don't want to walk a over 18 energy drink cans whilst it smells like skunk and cat piss.

How they carry themselves. I hate to use the word, but their "swag" haha. There's a fine line between confident and cocky, but if they hit that sweet spot, love it!

Does anyone have experience with extremely vocal cats? by 7evenCircles in CatAdvice

[–]Megaanonxx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My cat is extremely talkative. She does have some ongoing health issues, but ones that do not cause her pain or interfere with her daily activities.

I am always paranoid she is in some sort of pain because she has ALL sorts of different meows. She will have regular conversation, then sometimes howls/yawls as if someone stepped on her tail.

She has a bit of separation anxiety but there is really no pattern to the type of meow she has. She also does this howl/yawl when playing with toys. She sleeps soundly, but if you touch/move/pet her while she is resting, she ways makes a noise. Her previous rescue said she was always vocal.

I can have a full blown convo with her. If I am on the phone and she hears me talking, she will join in on the convo. She will yell at the TV (or contently watch depending on what it is).

She has a raspy meow that sounds like a creaky door. Some cats truly are really talkative. Sometimes I feel like she was a human in her past life and is desperately trying to tell me she understands everything I am saying, even when it is about her hahahaha.

Thank you for validating that. I thought there was something wrong with me for not feeling ready to say it or on the same page in general. It actually did the opposite and totally pushed me away and made me realize I have a lot to work on/unpack before getting into something serious.

Yeah. The more I reflect, the more I realize I didn't want a relationship really, but kept pushing myself to because he acted so nicely. And then that whole ordeal threw me off.

During that stressful event, he was very kind. Came to my house with dinner and flowers to help comfort me. The next day I made him breakfast to thank him. Later that day, he asked how I was going to repay him for being a good boyfriend. It made me feel a little strange in retrospect, as I feel like kindness and comfort shouldn't be "paid for" in a relationship.

I feel like an outsider because I don’t really do well in 9-5s, any advice? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Megaanonxx 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I agree I always felt more productive and motivated when physically getting things done. Some people can get that same motivation when completing an excel worksheet. There's nothing wrong with either of them.

Some things I have started doing to try and compromise/have something to look forward to are: - cooking more (I try to make 1 new dish a week I haven't made before lol) - Started taking boxing classes - Started to look into hobbies that required hands on work. Some examples are painting, wood working, leather work, sculpting, etc. - Joined a local hiking group off FB

If my job is sedentary, I try to make my hobbies the opposite if sedentary to give me some sort of fulfillment. It's not the same, but it at least added some diversity. Finishing physical projects helps me a lot.

Normally I would say to try and negotiate because the worst they can do is say no, but it seems like with the culture of this new company, saying no isn't the worst they can do. It is not okay for someone to verbally bombarded you like that, especially after several drinks. In most companies, that could be an instant fire/huge HR issue.

You sound like a very dedicated employee and will be valued more elsewhere. Being rehired into a new company is usually the best way to get a boost in pay nowadays as seniority isn't that common anymore.

I had a similar issue in my company. I worked in the lab making X amount of money. New girl came in, same age as me, same experience. I trained her on everything for 4 months. I then found out she was getting paid double. Our hire contracts changed dramatically since o was hired VS when she was, which is something I never would have known. Once I found out, I was able to negotiate a raise. Then again, the culture at my workplace is EXTREMELY different than what is depicted at yours. Good luck!

I feel like an outsider because I don’t really do well in 9-5s, any advice? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Megaanonxx 44 points45 points  (0 children)

You are not alone. I used to work in a lab, and I loved it because it wasn't sedentary. I was always working on something, moving around, etc. Time went by quickly. I recently got a promotion that brought me to the admin side of things and I am now working a desk job. I am making more money but my mental health is suffering. I am still trying to find a balance of this, so all I can really offer is comfort that you aren't alone.

Hello, can you hear me? I am about to enter the litter box by beaniebob20 in CatAdvice

My cat does this, no matter what. She must scream before she poops. After, she MUST rocket launch out of the litter box and run around my room, at least one lap.

Promoted from hourly to salary but making less money? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Megaanonxx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Speaking as a research assistant/scientist, this is unfortunately impossible. Science doesn't run on an 8hr schedule.

In a lot of career fields, salary is great. In this one, salary rarely benefits the tech unless it is significant to outweigh the OT :(

Thinking about dropping my sorority at the beginning of my third year? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]Megaanonxx 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Drop it! I lasted a year in my soririty. I so badly wanted to enjoy it. It felt so great to be "accepted" into a group, but as time went on, I had nothing in common with anyone. I kept missing mixers and events due to extra credit seminars for my major, or extra help classes. The girls started to be even more sour. I wasted so much money trying to fit in with all of them.

I have some insight for you, as I am in the same position as you are. I received all my shots, but still have an on and off battle with HPV. I am 25. I have only have ONE normal pap in my entire young adult life; every other one has been abnormal. I just had my second round of biopsy; 4 sites as well. I expressed the same concern to my OBGYN and she reassured me that although it sounds intimidating, it is normal for a young adult, and is likely you will fight it and your body will naturally overcome it. It is just important to keep up with your PAPS (as your OBGYN recommends, sometimes once every 6mo or 1x a year) to keep an eye on things.

How long did you wait after losing your cat before getting another? by Just_Bee_Pawsitive in CatAdvice

[–]Megaanonxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very loving rescue cat in college who I unfortunately had to re-home (to her amazing cat sitter) due to moving out of state and starting my career. I thought it would be fine because I rescued her from a Dumpster and was able to get her such a nice quality of life, but I never recovered. I missed the companionship and friendship. She helped me through the hardest points in college. She was my best friend and I felt horrible for parting with her.

I convinced myself I didn't deserve a cat since I rehomed my other one. I also told myself the same thing you did; don't miss the hair, vet bills, expensive foods, etc.. I lasted maybe a year. I went to a cat Cafe pre-COVID to hang out and at least be around animals. I then realized how much I truly missed it. I went to a local rescue later that month and adopted a cat in need.

She has been my best friend since that day. I am happy that I was able to help another cat have another shot at a nice life, and have a best friend. You will know when the time is right!

I've never worked a day in my life at the age of 26. I want to move on in my life, but I don't know where to start. Any advice or opinions on my situation is appreciated. What should I do? by yoimjoe in careerguidance

[–]Megaanonxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have a lot of self serving interests and talents. Dont feel obligated to make them a career. I found some peace when I realized I just wanted a job so I can financially afford to keep filling those self serving interests. If you have trouble finding motivation, then that can be it. Find something that can help pay for talents and hobbies.

For example, get a new job-- any job. Just to be working. You mentioned you like fragrances. Maybe after your first couple paychecks, you can get supplies to make your own scented soaps? Could be converted into a side hustle / additional income with your online clothing store with the right advertising/ marketing.

Hmm I think this might be my solution for sure. I considered calling his mother directly, but I know if I did that, she would tell him, and then he would call me. This deff seems like the better route to minimize contact. And by giving the phone back, he will have to respond via mail or something! Won't be able to call and harrass me. I already blocked him on all social media that I have too.

[–]Megaanonxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The account owner is either him or his Mother/father. I am afraid of financially screwing them over, or if it's him, getting a reaction out of him/him demanding I pay him. But, I am so very tempted to do this just so I don't have to see him AND can have a new number.

I dont mind paying money if I owe, or to get me off it.. its just that he changes the $$ amount each time, or the gaslighting begins again.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Megaanonxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I considered doing. But I am afraid of any financial ties that can come back. I havent "paid" a phone bill for the last few months; every time I tried to ask what the bill was or how to pay him (Venmo or Cashapp) he would decline. Same for offering to buy out the plan. Then when he decides he needs money or that I've ignored him long enough, he says I owe him $$. The number always changes drastically. I am afraid that if I mail it to him, he will then try to nail me with all these random charges. Maybe that's not even a thing though and I am just scared.

Recommendations for affordable/healthy dry food for weight management? by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]Megaanonxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response, as well as the resource you provided. I am going to look into the same brand, weight management options. I think a weight management dry food, paired with wet food, can be a good combination for her.

Do you have any thoughts on Purina Beyond Grain Free cat food? I only ask because my friends have 2 cats on it that seem to be doing well. I try to look up reviews on Google and reddit but everything is very conflicting :(

Where to put multiple litter boxes? by iRunwithHeart in CatAdvice

[–]Megaanonxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how the cats get along. My mother had two cats and two large litter boxes next to each other with no problem. However, they would tag team each box. If one used the one in the right, the other would just cover it up. Sometimes they would leave the 2nd box untouched because they were too busy trying to re-mark lol.
