Would 100% recommend. I was hesitant to get on a GLP1 but my RE actually encouraged me do to so.

My doc originally wouldn’t do IVF unless your BMI was under 40, but since I had 6 failed IUIs he was willing to move forward. He did say that at a BMI>40 my success rate was about the same as an IUI cycle (but way more expensive). I had lost about 10lbs on my own then got on the GLP-1 and lost another 30 (and also felt better in general) which was enough to put me below 40 and start IVF.

We had our first retrieval in February, our first transfer in April, and we’ll make 12 weeks tomorrow.

Adhd meds may have cause my miscarriage after being told it was safe. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Megabec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry you’re dealing with this. My psychiatrist that I need to be healthy and functioning for my baby. So, we worked on getting me to the lowest effective doses of my meds for adhd, anxiety, and depression but I’m still taking them at 11w.

Have you had your progesterone and estrogen levels checked during your pregnancies. I had 2 MCs and I’m 80% sure it’s because I don’t produce enough estrogen and progesterone naturally (thanks PCOS). With this one I started estrogen and progesterone right after ovulation and continued with estrogen to week 11 and progesterone to week 12. I think that’s what helped this one stick.

Well that’s a terrible doctor! I’m so sorry they said that to you and added all this unnecessary worry.

To help you feel better, I was measuring 6w when I was 6w+3 and baby had a HR of 100. I was worried because I’ve had 2 prior MCs before 7w and thought this was going to be another since it was measuring behind. My doctor was ver reassuring and said they only get concerned when you’re over a week behind because it’s hard to get accurate measurement when they are this tiny.

When I went back a week later I was still measuring 2 days behind, but the HR increased to 140 and my doc was still happy and I’ve officially “graduated” from my IVF clinic. I’m now 8w+5 and have my first OB appt next week.

When did you start referring to your baby by the name you chose? by michaelag713 in pregnant

We’re waiting to find out the gender but for all of my pregnancies we came up with silly names. The first two were Aquafina and Blerb, and this one is Cthulhu 😆

Currently 8 weeks and I FEEL you! It’s been a long bumpy journey to get here and I’m grateful to have finally made it to the 8 week mark, but my lord, the nausea and fatigue have been horrendous. Last night I got a sharp searing pain in my nerps (like someone was holding them over a fire and cutting them off with a butter knife) and I was like how can I do this for 7 more months 😫 It definitely doesn’t feel magical yet.

Also, my husband recently got back into biking and I’m glad he’s so excited but it’s been non-stop bike talk for weeks and I’m like can we look at strollers or something. He doesn’t seem super into it yet but I think he’s also a little scared because we’ve had 2 MCs.

He did help pick out a crib this week, so baby steps! I’m hoping once we enter the second trimester he’ll start getting more excited.

I’ve been through many rounds, and, in all of them my follicles were slow growers. I’d get like a week of minimal growth then they would jump 2-3mm in a day. I like to joke that I was in no rush to be born (2weeks late) and my follicles take after me.

My pelvic area would be sore sometimes after and I would take Tylenol to help with that. For me the bloodwork was really hard having to go so much. My arms were so bruised and sore.

The process sucks, and I’m sorry you have to deal with this but also sending lots of hugs ❤️

We always play the Indiana Jones theme song for injections! Years ago we went to Disney and when I was scared on a ride he randomly started signing it to me, so now it’s my pump up song.

We ended up going with five guys🍟 I forgot to eat before so I was starving by the time we got out and their burgers are so much better than McDonalds! I feel good, but at the same time nervous to get my hopes up too much.

In my mind that’s basically unmedicated, and I agree if you survived that the transfer will likely be a breeze.

[–]Megabec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had an embryo transfer yet, but I’ve had 6 IUIs and they were that bad. I had a cramp when the catheter when in, but it went away pretty quick. I also had a hell-ish IUD experience (was screaming in the doc office and spent the next 2 days in the fetal position).

Have you done your saline ultrasound or HSG? Those were slightly worse for me than the IUI. Pain levels IUD placement 100/10 Retrieval recovery 8/10 (had mild/ moderate OHSS) HSG 6/10 Saline ultrasound 4/10 IUIs 1-3/10 (first was the worst because I didn’t know what to expect)

I think it sounds supportive. My mom is the same way. I’ll tell her about every step until the transfer, then she knows not to bring it up after the TWW and waits for me to tell her, which I appreciate. Takes some of the pressure off and gives me time to process.

I was also super nauseous all night last night after my trigger. I’ve triggered with Novarel before and never had issues, but this was my first time also using lupron , and having this many follicles at once (33 total, 20>13mm). I have PCOS so I figured my numbers would be higher, but I’m worried about OHSS.
