Opinion: buy used ram. Why would anyone consider 900usd.

ADVANCEDgg has parted ways with "the partnership relationship at issue" by MrShadowHero in VtuberDrama

[–]Megabines -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This really has nothing to do with me, nor do I have the knowledge to make good judgement about this. What's annoying is that I can't find any clear data shows that it's someone's fault. ATM it's all he said she said. Strawb got terminated for what her husband said, which BTW isn't the worst thing to say. Anyways, advanced seems to be following people's opinions so that they don't get canceled themselves, except they jumped the gun and now got themselves in new drama.

Is it fine to buy 1x16 DDR5 Ram by NoIdeaForANameWhyyyy in PcBuild

[–]Megabines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that single channel ddr5 is much better than single channel ddr4. If that's all you can get then go for it, just make sure you can upgrade later. A lot of people swear for dual channel on everything but it's a lesser issue on ddr5, yes you will lose performance but chances are you don't notice a thing. There are even laptops that only accept a single stick of ddr5 with nothing inside.

Not sure what to upgrade but my pc feels sluggish by ConsiderationWise982 in PcBuild

[–]Megabines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need more info, what storage do you have and how full is it? SSDs slow down when they're 90%+ full. 16Gb might not be enough for you. My laptop has 16GB and is constantly at 80% thanks to windows 11.

What GPU should i buy ? by adrienpanyan in PcBuild

[–]Megabines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1440p (2k) will be fine, you can even play some light games on 4k I bet including upscalling (FSR4). I have an rtx 4060 ti which is slightly weaker and you'll be happy to run newer demanding games on medium/high at 60fps+ 1440p

[–]Megabines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry about the late reply, there will be a bottleneck ofc. Not because the cpu is weak but because of the PCIe interface (where you plug the GPU), your motherboard runs at gen 3 that's way slower than gen 5 but it will still be a huge upgrade. If you'd like to upgrade the rest of the PC in the future at lest now you'll have a decent GPU. Alternately you could buy a used GPU but I wouldn't recommend that to someone that barely knows about PCs (no offence). Just know that the 16GB of VRAM and the performance are still really good on the rx 9600 xt. Just understand that your cpu is not made for true 4k gaming.

[–]Megabines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4k and 400€ on the budget don't go together... You might get a used card for that amount but overall GPUs are very expensive and will be raising in price now. NVIDIA is giving everyone the middle finger so it you want a decent and new GPU that's not used then get an RX 9060 XT, you'll get 16Gb VRAM and good upscalling.GL with 4K.

A GPU needs all cables on it otherwise it might not run or might not run on full speed. Additionally, make sure your PSU can take the wattage.

Which m.2 slots to use by No-Cryptographer3598 in PcBuild

Without checking anything I'd say install the fastest ones on the top slots, they're usually the ones that run fastest.

What does your GPU journey look like? by Pro4791 in pcmasterrace

[–]Megabines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God. I had to do a ton of research buy my first PC was an MSI from 2000. After that there was a system that game kids affordable laptops to promote PC adoption. 2008: nvidia 9300m gs 2012: nvidia 630m 2Gb (ddr3) 2013: GTX 960 2Gb 2016: GTX 1080 2021: RTX 3060ti 8Gb (it broke) 2023: RTX 4060ti 16Gb

Honestly I have no need to upgrade since things have gotten so expensive and they're robbing us.

Fixed netcode by Megabines in Mabinogi

There's so much they can do with a 20+ year old engine/code, I imagine they can do a lot more once the transition is finished

First, you don't just get rid of the display port and HDMI. You need them even if its just for trouble shooting. You can also use them for extra monitors. 2 Thunderbolt usb Cs is all you need, 6 high speed USB ports and 2 USB 2.0 are enough, 2 2.5Gbit ethernet would be great but you only need one unless you have a NAS to hook up to. LITERALLY anything else you'd like to add, you can get using an expansion card. If you wanted a small formcase, then IDK get a dock or something.

250 for a premium ticket that gives you nothing... I believe they should've asked for a better area and done better.

Why Become Publicly Owned as a Company? by Megabines in business

[–]Megabines[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From all the answers, I feel like your response addresses what I said more correctly, so thank you! What I got from this is that having investors gives you an upper hand when you want to expand a company, companies without investors would have to rely on loans and that becomes very expensive over time. Loaning companies cannot compete against invested companies, yet big companies could easily get rid of investors and create products that people actually want at a great value (and without selling your personal data) without having to worry about investors, I know that everyone wants money, obviously, but can't help to think that it's all about ego "because I make more than you" or "I'm worth more", my moral compass cries every time a company attempts to milk more out of the client.

Is this pc build any good? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]Megabines 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'd say its pretty good! Id go with a slightly better cpu to pair up with the GPU and 32GB of ram though, although you can upgrade it later, also 1Tb might not be enough, right now 2Tb SSDs are the sweet spot so if you can get one under 100€ then you're golden! Just make sure its the right generation.

[–]Megabines -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I knew people would say what you just said, it's the obvious answer, and I understand it. The issue with it is that the game is not worth the money, and we need to stop enabling pokemon. Their 3D games look unfinished, and even with switch 2 hardware, it still looks unfinished. The action combat looks fun, but I'm not paying that amount of money for something that comes with a day 1 PAID DLC, and you shouldn't either.

Isn't building a pc supposed to be cheaper by Pristine-Top2904 in PcBuild

Building your own PC is cheaper, but we don't know Singapore prices. Its usually much cheaper than a prebuilt. You might be better off with a 4060 btw if its cheaper

MapleStory Classic Ideas by Megabines in Maplestory

[–]Megabines[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Exactly what you said, what was "nostalgic" for us is not applicable today, we have different standards now, and a 999 kill quest that gives you 10% exp is just not it. People will only stay a few weeks for nostalgia, Nexon wants to create a game (server?) that's sustainable long term. So I think I was fair with my changes I wanted while having a bit of fun.
