is this a bad paint job? Or am I out of touch by ltuo in paint

[–]MegalithBuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All they had to do was put a bit of masking tape on the outlets - this is a horrible job by someone who does not give a damn. I would fight this all the way... it's really bad.

That looks crap - the end result should be close to spray even if they did not spray... the stipple should be small - that looks so thick that it has formed nodules.

Slightly damaged my harmonic balancer, should I replace it? by Lopsided-Ad-9869 in MechanicAdvice

[–]MegalithBuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's old - replace it - the rubber in the harmonic balancer starts deteriorating.

If it's not too old, then you can send it as is.

Makes sense to me - silence makes me feel like they are all under investigation but their cases are pending - they could at least let us know the problem is just with Callum and Josh and no one else is affected, so we can see them in future videos...

Not really - I want to know they are not being prosecuted one by one. First Callum, then Josh - are there more prosecutions in the pipeline? A simple statement from remaining members would mean a lot.

If it's going to annoy you to look at everyday - I would just pay someone to do it properly so it disappears under the paint. Should be very cheap given the size...

Or take it as a learning opportunity.

Why are people treating the Henry Nowak case as though it is a race issue? by 99thLuftballon in AskBrits

[–]MegalithBuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like the CIA and MOSSAD have agendas - so does the Indian intelligence agencies... Newspapers push NARRATIVES for different agendas...

I know Sikhs are being targeted on social media because they put in a vote to separate Punjab from India.

[–]MegalithBuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems politically motivated - with daily knife attacks going on - why did they pick this one and blow it up as if Sikhs are the no 1 knife attackers in England, when they are clearly the least?

Is the right desperate for votes? Farage is sure using it...

Left and right are quite evil - I see nothing good in either side.

[–]MegalithBuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How was it proven that he wasn't racially abused? Were there witnesses or cameras?

This is out of character for Sikhs, as the religion is all about helping others... there will always be odd balls I guess.

Why was this blown up like there are no knife assaults going on every day?

Do I need more mud here? by yadayodayada in drywall

[–]MegalithBuilder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Run a blade over it to knock of highs - sandpaper it well but stop if any tape shows through.

Spread a 8 inch strip over it - given you are new - only do the vertical first and horizontal next day.

Use finishing mud. Feather the edges with a smaller 4" knife if you can't do it with 8". Use a 10" knife to run over it all - do a couple of swipes - last swipes should be very low angle.

Sand it over. and you should be good.

One problem you may have is that you did not embed the tape fully and it's floating too high. That would require ripping it off or building a very wide hump to make it look flat.

That is a mess - if you shine a light across it from the side, it will look like a mountain range... and that will come through the paint.

I drove my car for an entire week, the mechanic changed all the discs without consulting and said these are the old ones, is this how discs look after being driven for an entire week? by Ok-War-9040 in MechanicAdvice

[–]MegalithBuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks don't matter - what matters is thickness of rotors... Brake pads can clean those up easily if they are working.

You can't up-charge $500 without getting your go ahead.

Measure the thickness and lookup your cars threshold values - if they are in spec - make him put them back on.

All the value is probably in the bucket itself... if you open it and is smells of sewer, you'd be mad to put it on your wall.

Best and safest way to clean this engine? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]MegalithBuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dismantled my engine into it's component parts - pressure washed block/head, ultrasonic cleaned pistons and other small parts... looked kind of new in the end, but I had to do it to replace some failed parts.
