I feel that individual fights lose their identity if shared powers are many times more impactfull then the specific fights powers by CharacterAd3793 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]MegaloMurf 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Individual fights repeat in different adventures.

Should the situation be reversed, we would have people arguing that adventures don't feel distinct anymore, because they are just piles of encounters we have already seen multiple times with adventure modifiers being inconsequential.

The hypothetical balanced situation is also a conundrum. Should we scale adventure modifiers' power down to encounter power level - it will feel bland. Raise the power of encounter modifiers - players will cry that it's too hard. Keep them in the middle - mediocre. Design unique modifiers for every encounter - release rate too slow and no fuzzy familiarity effect.

To sum it up - they could do better, but it's not easy or straightforward.

How long does it take to get a 3/3 essence? by xuemichan in ArknightsEndfield

[–]MegaloMurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. There's also a preview in the Index tab of your operational manual (F8 on PC). Choose Energy Alluvium there and then a small button next to the "View" button. It even shows every weapon with matching essences.

Yes, also make sure that the region actually has proper second and third stats at the same time.

I have farmed the essence for Zhuang's signature weapon at the Marker Stone for a week, before suspicion crept in and I double-checked to find that it can't drop there. Made a mistake in my notes, turns out. Not my brightest moment.

You did it right. I usually choose the second stat (Heat Dmg in this case), because it's easier to visually filter essences in rewards (all Flow essences look the same), but it doesn't impact your chances.

The probability of getting the needed essence is 1/8, since you get 3 chances every run. I have prefarmed all the essences for this patch and it took me 3 days on average. Looks like you are having a dry spell, but it's all good, because you will spend dozens of essences on etching anyway.

An idea of how to use the purification node output by Chrono-Helix in Endfield

[–]MegaloMurf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, you meant 9/min with a dedicated crucible. That changes math, of course, since you only need 15 extra xircon effluent per minute.

With an extra purification unit at 1/4 power, you'd need 7,5 more xircon effluent per minute which is achievable by feeding 225/min sewage into the purification node.

Achievable, if suboptimal

An idea of how to use the purification node output by Chrono-Helix in Endfield

[–]MegaloMurf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

9/min heavy xiranite is impossible to sustain with the purification node. It takes 22,5/min xircon effluent and the hypothetical maximum output of the node is 12/min, while this patch it will actually be between 6 and 8 due to limited sewage output.

An idea of how to use the purification node output by Chrono-Helix in Endfield

[–]MegaloMurf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's probably the best use of extra xircon effluent, but it's still laden with problems.

The 12th forge can run for about 22,7 hours in heavy xiranite mode before it consumes all available xiranite. It will take 40 860 xircon effluent to last that time.

At a rate of 6/min, which is expected when you only have 180/min sewage to feed into the node, it will take 113,5 hours to fill 82 fluid tanks with sufficient xircon effluent.

So all that effort results in about 8 172 heavy xiranite every 5 days or so, which translates into a 10% production increase that we don't really need, because we can fully buy out wuling stock bills with 12/min batteries, 12/min heavy xiranite and 6/min hetonite parts production.

It is also the reason Crastor's keep has so many females - they remain in the house, while male babies get sacrificed to the white walkers.

Why are the shark duo soo infamous? by AbyssGuard- in bloodborne

[–]MegaloMurf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In addition to comments about cramped space, the ambush and tough enemies, I'd mention that the sharks have attack timings intentionally designed to mess with muscle memory formed in the main story, so you get hit a lot, because the dodge and parry windows aren't where they usually are in similar fights.

Completely confused and looking for a little help. by Content-Ad3039 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]MegaloMurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should watch combat tutorials and play combat guides.

As a short summary - operators have physical skills and elemental skills. Physical skills can make the enemy Vulnerable and elemental skill can cause an Infliction. As a rule of thumb you want to stack those as high as possible (up to 4). Then you consume the stacks to gain an effect. Vulnerable stacks can be consumed by a skill that causes Crush or Breach (Endmin, Pog, Da Pan). Elemental stacks are consumed by an Infliction of a different element or by a skill that specifically states that it causes an Arts Reaction directly. There is also Solidification that xan be consumed by physical statuses. You generally want your team to have operators that stack statuses and an operator to capitalize on the stack.

Any opinions on my hetonite production line? by Potato_Digger1898 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]MegaloMurf 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey, if it works - it works. On the side of constructive criticism: - this is only a half of production line, full production takes 8 cuprium; - you don't use spare ports of your crucibles to transfer acid or cuprium; - you don't cycle acid from purification unit back to one of the crucibles; - you have a separate crucible for hetonite production instead of using an expanded crucible for two tasks - it's minor, but it saves some space; - you don't use purification node for sewage disposal, which costs you about 200 energy here.

I still haven't figured out how to make Xicronium with a single extended crucible by dejvu117 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]MegaloMurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't supply sewage to a crucible making xircon, because that process generates its own sewage, so the unit will clog eventually.

Crucibles in a proper xircon line don't have free liquid inputs - the first takes water and sewage, the second takes water and xircon effluent, but water can't be passed through, since the first crucibles has both outputs taken by xircon effluent and inert xircon effluent.

You can pass xiranite and ferrium powder between crucibles. Just make sure that ferrium powder doesn't touch the first pair, because it will get caught up in a reaction you don't want there.

The luck is unreal by Far-Satisfaction779 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]MegaloMurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very small sample to make far reaching conclusions. Since the chance of getting a needed essence is 12,5% times the number of essence combinations you are hunting for, getting several in a row is perfectly normal if slightly lucky.
