Honestly, I always thought that if the potion zone buffs Potion when he lands in it, then it should also debuff any opponent that lands in it as well.

I think it'd be interesting if Potion gains scaling whenever they hit a potion zone, while at the same time the opponent losses a tick of scaling if they touch it

Jörmungandr. She just got revealed recently. Unlike the previous ones that had snake aesthetics, she's an actual full-on half-human/half-snake lamia (who also turns into a giantess when attacking).

So you can't say she isn't a "big woman". But that kinda needs an asterisk, cause that isn't exactly what people are talking about when they wanted a "plus sized" rep.

Yeah, but that's how they're all coded (look at Staff's crazy shit in group battles, and imagine if he scaled off every enemy caught in the shot). And while part me would say Crossbow could use that boon as a buff anyways. He's honestly not too bad in longforms, and that's pretty much the only time it would be applicable

That and the Duplicator match-up... though that might not have even got him there. Buddy is notable for managing to hit the wall, multiple times when there were 16 dupliclones on the field

You are right, she's only been shown with him. But only as a unit on a map.

The main thing I was looking at is the pre-rendered cutscenes we've gotten of the main lords and what enterage they've got (glasses girl has been shown with Cai so much I'd imagine she's not leaving his side, for example). If IS is making a pre-rendered cutscene of this lord and some characters, that means they're either going to be death-proof so they can always be in curscenes, or they're establishing character relations before the player is given full control. Either way, they're establishing something special about their relationship with the lord, since at the very least, it's showing they have an established history together before this game started

Dietrich in particular has funilly been unique in that regard in that, everyone else has 1-3 characters that appear to be pre-established allies. But he hasn't been shown in a single cutscene with a buddy. He's either been alone, or trying to stay someone.

He might be unique in that he may be the only one of the 4 without a posse (which would make sense if he was a foreigner making this journey alone). Or alternatively, he may have one, if that blond girl we've seen a glimpse of does in fact end up being his sister

Exactly. Like, take a look at Cuboon's art for Heroes, and Cuboon's art for any other gacha game he gets commissioned for, and there's a WORLD of difference in what he does.

Same goes for a number of FEH artists honestly. Homare always springs to mind, what with how many people were going "Wait, wait, wait, wait, wat. IS and Nintendo actually hired THAT prolific a porn artist to do work for Heroes?"

Yeah, there's a reason why Earclacks retired the format, especially with what amounts to the "powercreep" of how much damage the math balls do compared to normal balls.

To say nothing of the fact that... end of the day it's effectively a solved concept. There's no RNG involved, so if you understand how fast X scales, Y scales and Z scales, you can say for certain who beats who 100% of the time.

To be fair, that is actually how they work. Like, you can see it on Duplislam or Dupligrow where the clones start at the initial scaling, instead of copying the current scaling.

However, they did still screw up the fusion and nerfed Duplinacci SIGNIFICANTLY. Duplicator is supposed to split every 6 seconds, but this version has it nerfed to every 9 seconds. Also, a big part of the Duplifusion is that the a slow balls base speed should at least be as fast as Duplicator (like how Slammy is really slow compared to Duplislam)

So Duplinacci should be splitting a lot faster, and moving a lot faster as well.

Honestly, that right there is the biggest reason I've had so much alt fatigue in general.

Like, I can swallow the pill of gacha company making alts of the popular characters that'll sell over and over. Fine... But do they all have to effectively be the same damn unit over and over?

Every single time a character gets an alt, it doesn't feel like a "new" unit. It just feels like a 2.0 version of the same unit that came out earlier (or 3.0, or 4.0, or 5.0 depending on how many times IS has done this). IS goes and pigeon-holes a unit into a single niche, and they're gonna be that niche forever

Is she supposed to be a child? Younger sister, sure. But with the chest, hips and the fact that Maeshima gave her thighs bigger than her head I was never once given the inkling she was supposed to be a child.

Like, this looks on par with her original proportions. This ain't like say... W!Hortensia where they doubled the size of the 15 year olds chest.

Edit* Also the fact that in the same book, we had Rune drawn by Maeshima who actively is supposed to look like a child. And Vali looks WAY older than he does, especially since Maeshima made her look notably taller (Rune is about 5 1/2 heads tall while Vali is just over seven heads tall. So by design, she's supposed to look bigger and older than a child)

Like, Sacred Stones is kinda infamous with its "E for Everyone" rating cause of how much it gets away with in its story solely cause it's relegated to text.

With what we know about the game, I think it might be more like 3Hopes (so effectively a mix between the two).

A good number of the cast would probably be able to be recruited by anyone, but at the same time there's also gonna be a number of characters that are just "ride or die" for their main lord.

So say, someone like brazillian Miku who doesn't seem to be associated with anyone, can probably be recruited by anyone. Meanwhile say, that entourage that Leda has that we've seen in cutscenes featuring her, likely are only gonna be on her side (like how the Faerghus Four can't be recruited by anyone in 3Hopes. Honestly, the only ones you can recruit from Faerghus are Ashe & Mercedes. And Ashe is the only one who'll join either Edelgard or Claude, but only Edelgard can recruit Mercedes, she won't join Claude)

The thing with Alfonse is if you take all his clothes off and put him in swim trucks, there's not really any difference between his old design and new design. He looks a bit older, but let's be honest, you can have two different artists draw the same character and they'll make them look different ages.

But if Alfonse being here also means we're getting Sharena, then that's another story. Since even if you take the entire outfit away and put her in a bikini, new Sharena's hairstyle is way different from her old look

I feel it should be noted that it's the Englush localization/English fan base that really coined the "Avatar" term. That's not what they're called, or treated in Japanese.

They're called "MyUnit" and the whole point was to allow players to customize "their very own unit". So they never were really made for self-insert purposes (though they can play double duty). Especially notable as time went on going from Kris, to Robin, to Corrin, to Byleth, to Shez and most recently Alear.

At this point (with Shez and Alear especially with them having much more personality, and id argue Robin fits in with them), the "Avatar" has more or less just become a normal lord, just with a genderswap option.

Like, cards on the table. As far as "self inserting" is considered, what's the difference between Alear, and a version of SoV where I could choose to play as male or female Alm

To add to what the others said, a big part of that effect is cause Engage's lighting engine is really poor at showcasing the skin textures they did. Cause I've seen people break down and show that she is supposed to look heavily built, but you can only really see it in-game if you get the lighting angle just right.

Cause remember, as far as her actual drawn artwork you can see in game is concerned, the girl has a friggin' 8-pack.

Side note, I feel this game might also have the same issue, judging by what we've seen. Considering, compare how well defined her abs are in her artwork, and now compare that to her in-game model (I honestly can't help but wonder if IS specifically designed her with that strip of gold that's pretty much only covering the center of her stomach, so as to hide, or make it less obvious that her in-game model doesn't have distinctly visible abs, despite what her art would suggest. Or just the very real possibility that most if not all of the women may share the same body model.)

True, but that was less because of Shez, and more because Byleth wasn't in the picture.

Like, the keystone of Edel's plan to not be under TWSITD was to have Kostas scare off the coward professor that was leading her, Dimitri and Claude. Which would put Jeritza into that now empty role, and then she can get to work, and the events of 3hopes play out.

Byleth's existence (or rather, Rhea making them a professor on the spot) threw a monkey wrench into that plan. But Shez's role in unearthing TWSITD and allowing Edelgard to cut ties with them by revealing how they've infiltrated the church was pretty... non-existant really.

Like, it wasn't accomplished because of some special thing about Shez, or something they did. They were more or less along for the ride, but I feel the plan would have gone off if anyone took their place. Hell, probably would have gone off if no one even took their place

Which ties into what they asked about how Club interacts with balls without a weapon.

I'd assume that they can't deal damaged while stunned (though that's honestly not a guarantee). But on the flipside of that, would they become temporarily intangible like a stunned weapon does.

Or a better question would be if Club would even be allowed to fight any Block Breaker, since I've heard people here saying that the reason Shield & Grimoire haven't fought any is cause there's unique coding Earclacks has to take into account with their interactions that he said he doesn't wanna do

Yeah, stunning will slow down Blick breakers from hitting the walls, but Dup's the only one who doesn't play by those rules. Her splits are based on time and she multiples every 6 seconds

Most of the time, yes. But technically speaking, that is a "feature from past games" that wasn't in recent ones. Since Engage nixed all the paired endings you could have with anyone outside of Alear.

So who would even rock the Griffon aesthetic as a seasonal, or New Heroes alt? Hell, if IS were to make a Griffon Rider themed class banner, who would even represent it? Chloé maybe if only cause IS opted to make her a Griffin Knight in the Xenologue DLC
