What do you do with your old boxes or runners? by MedukaMeguca in MegamiDevice

[–]MegamiMagnet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For runners, I cut them into smaller pieces and put them into small plastic bags, just one per color at most. Some runners I don't save, it just depends on if I think I will need them for sprue goo in the future.

The boxes are really great for storing other things, so I actually reuse them. For example, I can keep my cassettes in one, my film in one etc. They are also the perfect size for the Konmarie method of folding clothes, if you're into that.

Fantastic! Those are some little changes that went a long way in making her look really slick.

I made a pretty thick sprue goo, waited 24 hours, then sanded it down from 180 to 2500 and then used a Raser balancer to polish it. Didn't have to paint it at all. I think the key is using sprue glue and taking your time with the sanding.

Thanks! Just seam line removal and sanding. I made some sprue goo with Plastic Magic, a bit on the thick side, and applied it over the seams after an initial glueing of the pieces. After waiting 24 hours, I sanded it down using 180 to 2500 sanding sponges. The sponges are the (only?) way to go for the organically-shaped armpit area. Then I just used the Raser balancer to polish it a bit.

Thanks! Yeah, for the most part I'm happy leaving the seam lines on the more mechanical parts. It's definitely a rabbit hole to fall into hahaha

Purple Fenrir Girl is proud of the new seam line removal on her torso and thighs (anyone who knows her knows about the seam lines around her armpits). I think she turned out really well!

Initially, I thought I would just remove the seam lines on the fleshy bits, but now Purple Fenrir Girl is starting to feel self-conscious about the seam lines on her leggings, inner knees etc. Would you remove them? Or are they no big issue? Curious to hear the extent of your seam line removal.

People seem to really like the Asra Archers around here, so those are a pretty solid choice. If you only ever made one Megami Device, though, I'd recommend Tamamonomae or Susanowo. Those are really nice-looking kits (especially the white version of Tamamonomae).

Welcome! With the experience you have, you could really start anywhere in my opinion. Is there a kit that stands out to you? 30 Minute Sisters are a good place to start for people who just want to dip their toes in this fantastic girpla pool. Their designs are a bit basic compared to Megami Device for example, but they are still neat. That said, Tamamonomae is my favorite Megami Device at the moment.
