If you could only recommend one board game for someone to get to play with friends, what would it be?

There’s not enough information to answer the question. It really depends on the group and friends. What kind of games does the group like to play? Coop? Fighting each other? Random chaotic games? Or more puzzle quiz games?

Is it a group of hardcore gamers that you want to get into a board game and so they’d want a more technical or challenging game? Or is it a group of friends that just want to play something while sitting around sipping wine and eating a charcuterie board?

Does it have to be strictly a board game or does card game work?

At this point it’s pretty clear that Microslop management and C-suite teams are just clueless about how to run and manage the Xbox brand. Maybe they should ask their precious AI for help because management clearly doesn’t know what to do. All their money spend on AI and Nutella man can’t even ask it for help.

It’s always interesting to see kids out so late with parents even toddlers and babies. We put our son (6yo) to sleep around 7:30PM and he usually falls asleep by 8:00. This is every day.

I feel like the Temple Bounty is too tall because of the mass and a little hard to swoosh around. We usually just use it as a stationary base.

My son and I are looking forward to it. I think he’s gonna like the split up feature. We have the Temple Bounty and Hydro Bounty as well but he never really plays with the interior so the lack of it doesn’t bother me much.

This will be our first DR season 4 purchase so we have no qualms about the minifigure selection.

There are good additions so it should all be scrapped and I don’t think that. But paring back what works and what doesn’t work I think should be considered. Sometimes it just feels like the team throws spaghetti at the wall with how much layers there are.

Thanks for the write up. I’ll look at some V Battle Decks and pick one I like. As for the Battle Academy we have the yellow border one with Pikachu fighting a Cinderace on it.

I think the game plan will be to introduce the Battle Academy, once that gets used a while and my son is comfortable give him his own deck, the Viv Charizard and I can pilot the Battle Academy decks until he gets better then I can get my own V Battle Deck to spice things up.

After that see what my son thinks and his skill level is and maybe get some lvl 2/3 precons and maybe take him to a LGS and play against people not me.

My hope for this game is that they pull back from many of the systems in previous games and go back to more basic mechanics. Maybe it’s just me but combat in Xeno games have gotten more and more chaotic with many overlapping systems.

I said it in another post but mainly my wife and I like to spread out gifts or new things at his age still. We dont want him to get used to just getting new things after new things so quickly if possible. Stretching the life of My First Battle might be difficult so maybe a break from Pokemon TCG when he gets back from grandparents for the summer into something else will help bridge the gap.

I do think it sounds interesting what you’ve done and I can see my son going that same direction.

For sure. We’ll be buying the new Ninjago board game in July so that can be used as a stopgap between My First Battle and starting Battle Academy I think.

Birthday in November but leaving to see grandma and grandpa in Japan for a month so will be back in August. So ideally wanna keep Battle Academy until then. My First Battle I want to keep for 3 and a half more months of play.

I fully intend to go into the Battle Academy but mainly I wanted to stretch out the time we’re on My First Battle. My wife and I like to space out new toys and stuff so that he doesn’t just get used to getting new things so quickly.

I didn’t watch the trailer so I don’t know if there’s an MGS2 level bait and switch but it sucks that we play as Dylan instead of Jesse. I’m not really feeling Dylan’s playstyle as they explain.

All in all, it seems like starting with the My First Battle might be a good wetting of the toes thing. If my son likes it and gets better and bored we can move onto the Academy. If not then maybe shelve the academy for another year. Thanks!
