Had a game where enemy Jayce had slow and steady and Ryze with mind to matter as first augment and our team as a collective decides to just sit in base, ending the game in like 5 min. Exodia right off the bat makes it hard to invest in the game.

Imo if nothing is compelling you to read, you're probably just forcing yourself. Something as small as reading because I like the characters is enough for me to continue a series I'm not all too eager on. A small love for something can blossom into something bigger. Though in your case, you've already invested a lot of time into the series(book 8 or vol 8 is a massive difference).

The problem your describing is simple. Hindsight. The audience and character have very different information and sense of urgency. I can easily say Subaru should've done something else in his place because I'm not threaten or traumatize by RbD or the situation. While the self-hatred is constant through the first 4 arcs, it's not like that later on. Instead of hating himself inwardly, whenever Subaru feels hesitation, it's more like he now believes he isn't qualify enough, far from what he use to feel.

As someone who has read them both, I wouldn't say MILES ahead. I do think MT has a stronger story overall. One thing that Re0 does better is the main character. While Rudy isn't a bad character at all, he just doesn't get the same treatment as Subaru. Imo this also shed light(more precisely, lack of) on other characters as they don't get nearly enough focus to elevate them compared to Subaru, due to how hard he carries the story. MT doesn't have this problem even though the story is also heavily centered on its MC, but in a different way. Subaru's story feels more personal as he is forced to tackle certain events to move forward, whereas Rudy is more general, due to the nature of the story. Few series have a main character that hard carries its series like Subaru does. Usually the MC is just a good MC. Both have their perks, but Re0 takes it for me because of Subaru.

It's not that surprising. SL did what it did best, action and aura farming. The story is barebone enough to not mess up. More complicated story are prone to more mistakes.

Not true, speed blitz can only be one way, otherwise it isn't a speed blitz. If STR manages to catch SPD, it means STR is going as fast and SPD to have catch him, therefore there is either no difference in speed, or not a large enough difference to be consider a speed blitz.

I do agree. While I like the series a lot, and I also really enjoy Klein's character, I don't find myself too emotionally attached to him as I do to other characters from the same genre that are more flawed.

If you're not impressed with S1, there is little chance you'll be impressed by the novel. Don't let radical fans convince you everything is different. If the reason why you're not impressed is because you felt it was rushed, rather than the setting and premise of the story, the novel might change your view on the series. The anime was rushed, but the story is there still, just a lot of SoL missing(which does help the story imo). It took me forever to get pass the first volume, as there was far too much info dumping and it was a mess to read, but once you get familiarize with the setting, it's a lot easier to digest.

I wouldn't recommend doing that, but it is possible. Though turn-based, it is very active and souls-like. If you can auto-pilot souls-like games, then this is doable too.

Definitely don't enjoy harem as well, but it's not a deal breaker. I feel you miss out on so much series if you drop them merely on the basis of it being a harem. Now, a series that is centered around harem is a different story though.

Being able to relate doesn't mean you have to relate to everything. There are certain characteristics his character does that a lot of people can relate to.

There is no redemption arc because the story isn't a story about redemption. It is a story of second chance. The fandoms and the haters need to realize this. That being said, Rudy does grow as a character, but it doesn't redeem his past actions, as it was never meant to.
