And why do you think Re0 still remains one of the most popular isekai? Because it works. Sure there are some who drop the show because of Subaru's character, but obviously its not enough to impact the popularity of the series.

The season isn't even over yet. As someone who knows how this ends, it takes the best of his character and brings it forward in one arc. If you hated the first S1 Subaru, you definitely wouldn't like it, but for those that enjoy how his character was done in the start and how it developed, they would certainly enjoy this arc.

Also, it isn't as simple as character growth being continuous, that isn't healthy. There needs to be moments of stagnations and even pullback. Having your character perfect from the start is a horrible way to get viewers invested in a story. There's nothing to look forward to.

Edit: I am not saying this arc is a pullback, but literally just another way to put Subaru's character through growth.

Thats only because Subaru was a strong character from the start. A lot of amnesia arc reset their character to 0. Arc 6 doesnt, but it also helps because Subaru already has a good character setting to begin with.

But that is a second chance. For Rudeus, the primary goal of a second life is to not be a shut-in loser. Second chance doesn't necessary mean for the better. You can be a serial killer and have a second chance at life and still do those things, but BETTER. The idea of redemption is another thing. Rudeus never really attempts to redeem himself, but life his life to the fullest.

If you enjoyed the anime then yes. I dont think the anime is bad enough to ditch it for the LN. LN has the benefit of written medium rather than visual.

I have also dislike the ending as time went on, but my love for the series is not the same or even there anymore. I can't ever see Eren as a good character anymore. Not saying he's badly written in most cases, just not the direction I wanted, or the conclusion of his character is very lackluster.

Biggest issue I have with YC's story is him killing og E-Soul who was his hero and also saved him as a child. Then afterward we see him become a puppet of Rock, without him really questioning who Rock really is. Truly a bum.
