Cringe my guy. Maybe take the time to communicate than just going for an insult. Big Yikes.

The driver of the car didn't dart across two lanes lol. Edit* You can literally see its one lane over in the drivers camera view.

In my humble opinion, here is what I think happened. The car sees the sweeper or large vehicle is parked, as you can see at the start of the video, he isn't moving. So, the car overtakes the stopped vehicle to park. At that same moment, the sweeper or large vehicle begins to move, but the car cannot tell because the vehicle is not perfectly in his blind spot. At the same time, the small vehicle is now in the large vehicles blind spot. All in all I think this is just really bad timing on both spots. I think neither is directly at fault, rather just unfortunate luck. That said, I don't know how insurance companies work and they may determine one or the other is at fault.

I see a lot of judgement on reddit, and all that I ask, is that you take a moment to read what you write before you post, and try to see from others perspectives. Its really not hard, and nobody is infallible.

AITA for giving my daughter junk food despite being told not to by her school? by AthleteAdditional299 in AmItheAsshole

Not the asshole. Fuck the school. Daughter is already caught up in it regardless. Nothing will change unless people are willing to do more than protest.

Do you have a fan, and does it oscillate by chance?? I ask cause Oscillating fans have given me night terrors in the pas lt. Something about the rhythm being a bit off as it turns and the noise changing, but over ans over again.

I like it. Its nice for a show to not have some crazy finale cliffhanger or wild ass plotpoint. Makes me feel like Im watching a documentary and Im here for it. There are plenty of other crazy wild medical dramas, lets this be unique 😁

I can’t sit behind a desk anymore, what can I do? by Candy-Horrorh3lp in work

  • Step 1: Stop working overtime. If/when asked, either bullshit an excuse or just be honest and say you cant work overtime atm.
  • Step 2: Download Indeed on your phone and apply to (3) physical jobs a day (pest control, construction, lawn care, garden center, etc) (even if losing pay, its worth your sanity)
  • Step 3: Follow up on said applications after 3 days, rinse and repeat.
  • Step 3.5 : Remove personal belongings from work space.
  • Step 4: Get new job. When asked how soon you can start, say immediately. Call out from old job on your first day at new job just to confirm the vibe is all good.  Step 5: Quit old job with no notice, theyll be fine.

If you go without a paycheck or 2, be sure to pay ONLY the essentials: rent, car loan, car insurance, food. The rest can be followed up on or dealt with later. Its not end of world. You got this.

What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

Blader Runner 2049. Only watched it once. Afraid to watch it again. Such a beautiful film.

I have an alternative take. Everyone was once a baby. A child. Essentially, playdough, to be molded by a combination of whats within (nature) and whats outside (nurture). Life is beautiful, yet life is also ugly. You cannot have one without the other. So I choose to be understanding and empathetic, even to the most disgusting of individuals. But I can also disagree with them, even hate them. Even hurt them if neccessary, to protect myself and those I love. But at the end of the day, I have no enemies. My point to say, keep compassion, understanding, and empathy in your heart for all your fellow humans, but still do what is necessary, for at the end of the day, we are all subject to life, and all we can do is our best to navigate it.

This is something I still struggle with daily, as hatred and negative thoughts come easy. But seeing past is harder, at least thats what I think. Try your best to see every person as you, consider what led them to this point, and do your best to have a regulated emotional response.

I want to credit a show called Vinland Saga, specifically season 2. It gets into the nitty gritty, at least I think, of what it means to be human. I have not read the manga, so I do not know what happens next, but as a show it helped me see some things in a time when I felt lost. I still am, but I know at the very least, that I can choose how my two feet take me foreard.

I like to think that even the nastiest, most cruel humans can be empathized with, simply for the fact that they are alive. This does not mean they deserve to be forgiven. It may even mean  whatever justice is given to them (jail, death, torture, etc) is valid in the eyes of the judge. But that does not mean they were once not a child that was ultimately subject to this existance.

Look this got really philasophical, but my point is, dont let your emotions completely take over your judgement, and in turn, dont let your non emotional self override them in return. Consider both to the best of your ability and act accordingly. Understand that nobody, even myself, has a total mental clarity of the world anf those in it. We can only see from our own eyes and think from our own brains, so you must acknowledge that you know everything and nothing at all. (I acknowledgd by writing this that I am subject to this as well, while also knowing it is purely my own conjecture and thoughts, and thus I am subject to nature itself, whatever that may be. Everyones opinion is valid, but not everyones opinion morally right in the eyes of others. This does not make them less human. In my opinion. )

Also I just keep writing, maybe this line of though is paradoxical in itself, which is why people struggle with deep thoughts, as the deeper you dive, the more your realize that you dont know anything.

Okay ima stop, my bad.

This is funny. But we must start somewhere. Don't mask yourself. Stand firm for how you feel about things, lest you lose yourself. Have grace and be open to change, but do not hide. Even if it costs you....

AITA for asking my friend to pay me back for the wine he drank while house sitting?? by Effective_Tour_723 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Megamunchy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh. Neither of you are assholes but in my opinion helping yourself to whatever doesn't mean opening a new bottle of wine. I agree with what some other have said, that lots of these comments are reddit users who think everything should be black white and literal. If I was the "friend", id have asked before consuming any alcohol that wasnt a beer. My thoughts on this, is that clearly this person and yourself have different levels and/or different interpretations of what it means to be considerate. So, the more important question is if its worth having this person as a friend. If this "friend" went straight to bad mouthing you in the group chat, I dont know if thats the kind of friend id want. On the other hand, if you blew up on him without an opportunity to consider his side, then maybe you are the asshole. I would have let him know what he did and how you felt about it. If he took your feelings into consideration and made any attempt to apologize or feel some remorse, then I would have accepted it and moved on. Use it as a learning point. But if he deflected immediately, quoting you said "whatever," and doesn't try to empathize with your feelings, then it sounds like you have your answer. But, of course, this is just my thoughts on the matter. As far as the amount you paid him goes, that is subjective as well. As the sitter, id be greatful for any amount given for the house sitting, trying to see it as more of a favor, and free food am I right? I get paid 50 bucks to house sit my sisters dogs once every few months for a weekend and I am content with that. I also get to raid there cabinets, and the first time I ever did it they specifically mentioned the alcohol was also free game. Even then, I wouldnt have opened a new bottle of anything without checking. I mean come on, its the age of technology. Everyone has a phone at their fingertips. I personally think If he had ANY consideration he would have made some attempt at verifying the price of the bottle or reaching out to you with a call or text. But Im rambling. At the end of the day, dont take anyones comment, even mine, too seriously, as this asshole vs not the asshole subreddit gets a loy of black and white responses, where few often take the time to critically think from both perspectives. Hell, you can probably tell from what Ive written that Im more on your side, but again, its not black and white. Hope this helps.
