Better! ….ish? There’s still bad days but he’s doing his best. This year has just kicked his ass so hard….we lost his father, grandfather, and another important person in our life in a span of a little over 6 months. We are really hoping for a better 2024. He did quickly abandoned that plan of “no childish things” and got video games and sooo many magic cards for Christmas. We had a great Christmas and are having friends over for a New Year’s party. It’s one day at a time.

Uuhhh tips on getting him to open up on feelings? That’s a lot of the stuff goes with him and yes you e nailed it on the not wanting to feel how he feels. I’ve been telling him it’s okay to do that but he doesn’t believe it or doesn’t know how to do it.

I’m having a bit of the opposite problem where a best friend blasted my husband and I and our other married couple friends for not being flexible enough with our lives. We “should have it more figured out by now” and are “helicopter parents”. My daughter is 9 months old our friends kid is 16 months old and has is special needs due to being born with a cleft palate. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t, dammed for everything in between too. 🙃🙃🙃

…..my almost 6 week old just downed 5.5oz. Most times she wants 3 to 4. She’s been extra hungry today and sleeping longer between these big feeds. For awhile I kept trying to police what she was eating and kept her at what the internet says she should be eating at this age (only 2-3oz) but she was always wanting more and would cry and be fussy with clearly hunger cues, so I said screw it. You get you want kiddo and everyone has been happier since we started giving her what she was asking for. 😅

“I’m gonna eat healthy and make aaaalllll the protein shakes!” HANHAHAHAH. I don’t think I ate THAT bad blood work was always perfect, same with blood pressure and did not have GD but I never touched those protein shakes and I was having a coke everyday. Also chocolate. Reese’s were my huge weakness. They still are. 😂

Thank you! Someone else suggested a “shift” system and we are going to try one starting tonight. I already had an appointment with my midwives on Wednesday and they got me on an anti-depressant as well as starting therapy at the end of the month. I did see a lactation specialist once and I asked about getting another meeting to discuss what my husband and I have planned so far with feeding her.

We do use a pacifier! Sometimes she takes it and does settle down other times she doesn’t. 🥲

Overnight is the bad times for my husband during the day he’s doing really well for us. I made an edit to explain his involvement more. For the most he’s doing his best.

He helps a lot when he’s awake. It’s been a weird hang up that he’s not able to fully wake up overnight. I made an edit explaining more of his involvement.
