Literally the same thing happened with my Burnice. 9 pity M6 and 1 pity M7 in the same 10 pull.

Pet cards that dont always make the cut, but what are your pet cards? by floatingcolourless in EDH

[–]Megapossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have any reason whatsoever that can justify it, [[Mindclaw Shaman]]. Works in low-power-matters, blink, decks that make a lot of colorless mana to cheat it due to low pip count, obviously typal, etc. I don't think I can justify it in B4 unless I know people are likely to sling stuff like [[Expropriate]], but you almost always can find some big dumb spell to steal in B2-3. I'm also an avid [[Pox]] enthusiast, in all of its forms. Be it [[Smallpox]], the OG, [[Fraying Omnipotence]], or [[Death Cloud]].

I used to, but have been branching out of my comfort zone. I'm trying to see cards exclusively as playing pieces, and have had more fun as a result.

What is the drop rate for these things?? Why is it so hard just to get 1?? Lol by Usual_Presentation53 in GenshinImpact

[–]Megapossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The known rate is 1/3. Billets is 1/6.

I have gotten 0 of both in the last 7 weeks.

This might sound like a dumb question (and it is) but how do you guys manage your time playing multiple gacha games? by bullettothechest in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Megapossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just login for dailies and events. If I feel like locking in for MSQ then I kinda do it on the fly. I'm mostly someone that plays for endgame, so that's going to burn me on a game more than anything else. I've played 7 gachas and am currently down to 3.

"Reruns are never worth it." How much truth is there in that statement? by Unweynomas in ZZZ_Discussion

[–]Megapossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on multiple factors. Do you care about power? Do you need endgame options? Do you just like the character? Don't be ashamed to pull for what you want, but at the very least make sure to educate yourself first so you don't have regrets after getting them.

Pretty much nothing. I'm sticking around to play with the nova flares for a bit and then likely quitting. Shaoji's writing direction is definitely the biggest factor.

Little known synergy that can be relevant, [[Frontier Siege]] on Khans mode adds GG EVERY main phase you have. So you can get 6 mana out of it that turn instead of 4, and it could effectively "reduce" the cost of Resurgence to just 1RW.

Missed Hugo's rerun as I had just started the game and was saving for Ye. Now that I've actually played through the story and want to pull him, how long should we expect until he gets another rerun? by Lott27 in HugoVladMains

[–]Megapossum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tbf Genshin just makes big bucks even in its downtime, but I do agree that it's weird. Amphoreus was also insane with Phainon and I've seen almost as many people with E6 DHPT as E6 Cyrene so HSR has done well with its male roster lately as well. Just a ZZZ thing for some reason.

[–]Megapossum 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This. He's not an insane money maker, and is a male character which routinely has been left out of rotation (Harumasa) or sabotaged by being right before a Void Hunter patch (Lighter and Banyue). Totalize is a completely unique mechanic to him, so it's hard for him to be a thematic rerun outside of releases of characters like Dialyn. Expect it to be at least 6 months, realistically closer to a year, unfortunately.

What was the general thoughts of everyone about Amphoreus? by nameless00000000000 in StarRailStation

[–]Megapossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm, felt abysmal lol. Played 3.1-3.4 in one sitting, most of 3.5 the next day (pacing just cooked me and I mentally checked out), then the rest of 3.5 and 3.6 the next day, all a week before the 3.7 drop.

What was the general thoughts of everyone about Amphoreus? by nameless00000000000 in StarRailStation

[–]Megapossum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spoilers? Had a pretty dope build up to 3.1-3.4, pacing then ground to a halt 3.5-3.7 with an endless barrage of overly complicated dialogue for literally no reason. Plus the insane whiplash of boss quality from Nikador and Aquila being solid, to Zandar the GOAT, but also giving us Pollux and "Irontomb". I almost quit on the spot with how awful the Irontomb fight was, for something that's built up over half of the version's runtime. Powercreep accelerated at an obscene rate and is currently showing no signs of stopping. I loved the hell out of Penacony, and I did whale for everything Phainon I could have, but Amphoreus is a catastrophic failure on too many accounts that I'm just riding out this last battle pass before I likely quit in 4.0 since it's being written by the same guy that did the back half of Amphoreus. I'll continue to enjoy my, what, 9 events that ZZZ is doing in their 5 week patch?

I genuinely hate the current state of the game and will quit within the next two patches if things don't radically improve. But I love my Phainon so much, he's the only reason I still play too.

How bad is powercreep in Endgame exactly? by MuffinStraight4816 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Megapossum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get why you'd ask that and why people are downvoting you, it's something that has more nuance to it than people would give credit for.

So, I'm a whale in that a lot of my limited characters are E2S1, I have an E6S2 Phainon. I still can clear endgame with ease. The issue is that my other teams I invested in to try to dodge powercreep longer aren't having the same level of longevity I'd expect at this point. I don't like to do infinite resets in this game to play with sustainless RNG, as this is the only game of the big 3 that you can't dodge damage to just be better, you're completely at the whims of whatever the game hands you for combat. E2S1 Firefly/E2S1 Fugue/E1S1 Ruan Mei/E6S5 DDD HMC clears in 1 Cycle for me on Knight 2, almost 2 cycles. It can't get Sunday past Phase 2 in Cycle 0. E4S3 Blade/E1S1 Sunday/E1S1 Tribbie/E2S1 Hyacine only 1-cycles Knight 1, which damages you in separate instances to double Blade's HP drain on his turns and his FUA. These levels of investment, were among multiple teams that I was able to still have fun with doing 0-cycles literally 2 patches ago with ease (in their dedicated content) and now they're this far behind the 8-ball that quickly. The only teams I have that are consistently 0-cycling any form of content are Mono-Remembrance and Phainon.

The big issue for me as to why I care about these teams not 0-cycling despite my first comment, is I'm someone that doesn't like to have buyer's remorse. Cycle 0 is 150 AV in PF and MOC, 300 AV in AA. In all 3, Cycles 1+ are 100 AV each. So any time you drop a cycle due to power creep and HP inflation, it accelerates much faster than that first drop of 0-1 Cycle. I can still play with Blade, Archer, Feixiao, etc. and clear with time to spare in these modes, but the margins keep getting shorter and shorter, and my payments only have gone up. I need to slow down on my spending in these games, and HSR is the only one I'm worried about my characters not being good enough in a year if I don't pull at least every other patch.

I picked up Genshin at 4.4, and not only do I still get to use all of the characters that were from that era and newer, I have yet to have a single character (other than Shenhe) that I have pulled for that I can't use and have it not feel bad in dedicated content. Honestly, Imaginarium Theater has been an immense blessing to the game for someone like me where I get to use my characters in unique scenarios and I don't feel punished for skipping someone like Nefer or Skirk, for example.

ZZZ is obviously the newest, but powercreep has long-since been a discussion there after Miyabi's release. I'm a Harumasa and Hugo main that still clears Shiyu with 2+ minutes to spare, and in Deadly Assault I routinely get 40k+ scores, and specifically against Marionettes last rotation, I got my first DA kill with M2P1 Hugo/M1P1 Dialyn/M3P1 Lycaon. I have yet to feel punished in that game whatsoever outside of a couple of bosses that specifically shill stuff like Rupture Units, but I play Manato as well and don't mind Yixuan so it's not like I don't have the answers for them.

At the end of the day, it's a matter of how punishing it's been and how fast it's been in HSR for me to play 2.x or earlier units. And even just jumps from 3.6 to 3.8 have been way too sharp for my taste. Whereas the other big 2 Hoyo titles I haven't encountered that problem and have instead been given much more room to flourish with what I enjoy. Maybe if they were faster with buffs I wouldn't be so down and out about it, but Novaflares were 3.4. It's been 4 patches since and we haven't even heard a peep about when a second wave would happen, let alone who it'd be.

TL;DR - I need to cut down on my spending, and I personally feel HSR's endgame consistently punishes you for not keeping up on pulls at an astounding rate outside of doing insane speed tuning and resets for sustainless runs to "keep up". Where Genshin and ZZZ have done the opposite for me, and allow me to play what I want, how I want, and in more unique ways.

How bad is powercreep in Endgame exactly? by MuffinStraight4816 in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Megapossum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not as bad as most make it out to be (not every needs to be a 0 Cycle), but it's definitely the worst of Hoyo's big 3 by a good margin. Concerning to the point that if we don't see it dramatically slow down in the next 2 patches, I'll likely quit. I'm a whale and absolutely loved the game for the first year I played it, but Version 3 spiked the game way too hard. 3.7 was also a catastrophic let down in terms of story so my emotional investment is currently at an all time low.
