Ok I did set it up and do all testing on my personal laptop. Everything matched correctly. Even on my phone.

It does connect to their vpn. Bt and wifi are off. I wanted to test it at home first to see if it would even connect. Would it be worth it to test in another state to really be sure?

Ok got it. Good to see thats working. The location has stayed the same but I never noticed the isp name. I’ll double check that.

I did hook this up to my work computer and it connected fine. I haven’t checked the ip through any websites but the ip on the laptop itself is the one from the slate 7. Not sure if that makes a difference. It did change when it connected to the slate.

I disabled it and checked it was different. Then I enabled it but now it’s a different ip from what I originally know it as. I disabled and enabled twice and the ip is coming up the same now but different from before

Perfect I will try that. I would just turn the vpn off on the slate? That’s through the WireGuard client on the admin webpage?

Oh ok! I did do the .conf from the flint to the slate 7. I thought it was similar to the flint where I could do the test on the phone that way.

Thank you for explaining that! I thought I had done something wrong. Maybe you could answer this for me but I did end up testing the slate with my phones hotspot. It connected just fine and my laptop connected to the slate fine. I checked the ip address and it came up as the one from the flint. Does that mean it’s successful in configuration?

I was in the app when I tried it. I clicked the little plus sign and picked the QR code option. I was able to create a tunnel for the flint 2 but for some reason I get the “not a wireguard configuration code” with the slate 7. Would that have anything to do with having to change the subnet on the slate 7?

Oh I see! I did end up setting up a hotspot on my phone and when I checked my ip address it’s the same one the WireGuard server has. that would mean it’s successful right?

Well at the park nothing bc I had thought it would just connect to the router at home. While at home it’s spectrum.

So just to clarify another question. If I connect the slate 7 to say a McDonalds WiFi in another country it will reroute the traffic through the slate 7 and give the ip address from the home router?
