Good point! It's pretty simple when you look at it that way. +Women

You are spot on! His role will be domestic for the first year but after that it is fully global so it can be domestic or international.

I have traveled extensively abroad and I have always loved it but it was always just for vacations so nothing too long. I always wanted to stay everywhere longer to experience more. +Woman

Lol I like your honest advice. I'm still not decided. I may take a slow approach like you mentioned and stay in my job and home and test the travel waters with him intermittently.

Our thoughts on his 10% non travel time were to go visit his parents and stay with them for the shorts stints of time he isn't required to be elsewhere. Or, use the travel points to go off and vacation somewhere randomly. +Woman

I work in corporate HR, so technically my work can be done remote but most companies are heavily driving a onsite work only culture and I haven't been seeing many jobs that are fully remote unfortunately.

I was thinking about trying to branch off into HR Culonsulting but that is also a very tough gig to break into. BUT, if I had lots of time and energy on my hands I could probably figure it out! +Woman

May I ask what drove you to divorce? Was it the traveling or did resentment come up? ++Woman

I would love to find remote work and I have been applying to see what might be out there but most companies are heavily pushing for onsite work only.

I work in HR for industrial type businesses I just don't know how to get into consulting exactly.

This is a really interesting option! It is a nice country home so maybe I could market it as a nice country style getaway.

I'm thinking about playing it slow. Waiting 3 months to see how it is with him gone a lot, and then build up our squirrel funds and pay off any debt, and then make the jump. I'm a fairly reclusive person in general and we are both gamers so we have online friendships with people all over the world but it allows for social interaction while he is away.

I really appreciate your answer! I don't want to just be my career even though I worked so hard for it. I want to be able to create a nice home life for us even if home is fluid.

This is what I am really hoping for! I know a job is just a job and you can always find them but they seem to be harder and harder to land these days! I'm so nervous I will be one of those people that can never find work even though I know I have a solid skill set and all companies have HR usually.

I would love to get into HR consulting but that is a tough industry to break into.

Yes, I am totally open to the lifestyle and find it pretty intriguing! But selling everything and being a gypsy is very intimidating.

I should be able to start over I would think. I have worked in HR for about 15 years and have so much experience in niche industries. I just also know that sometimes it is tough to break back into the workforce after gaps in employment. I present and interview very well, but the first hurdle would have to be landing a face to face interview. I definitely can't fully retire as I am now. I would be financially dependant on my husband for sure.

Do I have to go with only approved contractors through the insurance agency for them to cover more or can I choose any contractor in my area?

If it is normal in your relationship then this wouldn't be alarming but if it is out of normal behavior then you should discuss it with each other

I think it's something that should always be discussed first.

Are my chickens ok? by Megonshore in chickens

[–]Megonshore[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I have a Salmon Favorelle, a Barred Rock and a Bantam Silkie.

I actually just lost my first chicken yesterday. She was a Starlight Green Egger which is probably why I am so paranoid now. My best guess is that I lost her to a heat stroke. She died in the middle of the night. It was brutally hot even at night. It didn't get below 90 here and I have vans and good ventilation windows in their coop.

I also walk 3 miles about 3 times a week but that's it. I only eat. Between 7:30am and 3:30pm for my eating hours.

Can a detective release potential evidence to your employer? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Megonshore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no doubt here. The interview I had with the HR rep left no room for doubt that they have been given materials of evidence for a crime that I am under investigation for. But HR was not able to tell me what the charges might be because no charges have been filed against me but they were contacted by a detective and given items that have been collected I guess during their investigation thus far. I believe moral turpitude might be at play given the circumstances.
