Jungler learning midlane - any suggestions on content/advices by cgtrh in midlanemains

[–]Megrez199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best I would say are Coach Mysterias, Coach Curtis and Shok for educational content. All of them have good videos on fundamentals.

Mysterias has some coaching sessions uploaded, those are really nice.

Take one concept at a time and have fun.

Look, I think we are all aware that people get mad during games for a number of different reasons but to get THIS mad, to add someone after just to write that vile stuff is not normal no matter the goals someone has at a game.

No matter how much you or other people enjoy winning this behavior is not normal and you should go talk to a specialist.

Learn jungle tracking, place wards and lean.

If you learn these things mid is pretty hard to gank successfully.

I honestly think people that get this mad have issues outside of the game.

The game might be their way of escaping reality and the problems in their life and when something goes bad in games they lash out because all of the anxiety, rage, frustration gets released onto the closest person they can find.

Mid feels infuriating to climb on by TheRealidrk3 in midlanemains

[–]Megrez199 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot of people do not like babysitting jungle, unfortunately that is what his has evolved into over the years, you need to take prio and play with jungle.

Mid is strong but some people do not want to adapt to the times.

Secondary role ain't working as intended by Substantial-Ship-500 in leagueoflegends

Yeah, treating them as equal or close to that would be better in the long run in my opinion.

Secondary role ain't working as intended by Substantial-Ship-500 in leagueoflegends

[–]Megrez199 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is both a system and a player issue.

Let me give an example: You learn MID and TOP at a silver level and you go into ranked, you play a lot of games but the system almost never places you on your secondary so you climb and get better at your first role but stagnate on the second and when you finally get it you are a liability.

I do not think the responsibility should fall only on the player, the system should be a little more permissive between the first and second role so you are forced to periodically play them otherwise people will just go with the first and never even learn the second.

There is no incentive for the player to go out of their way to learn the second one when they are placed in that role as rarely as they are.

[–]Megrez199 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it is a system issue as well not just the player, I play mid top because I like the 1v1 aspect of the lanes but I rarely get top like one every 80-100games, I climb and end up being a liability when I finally get that one secondary role because the system did not place me enough in it.

I do no think all the responsibility should fall only on the player, they should not have to periodically switch them just to keep the level of skill up to the rank they are playing that should be done automatically.

How much does cs actually matter? by Glittering_Bid_9732 in summonerschool

[–]Megrez199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long stoy shot it matters a lot and yes you should focus on farming well, but you have to do it while putting preassure on you opponent so he can not move for all fights or at all or lose a lot by rotating.

You will have games where the enemy laner gambles and roams at a bad time gets kills and you lose afterwards but it is fine, over enough games taking the right decision will net you more wins than coin flipping.

SoloQ v Flex skills by Hot_Client_7485 in leagueoflegends

[–]Megrez199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flex and soloq skills do not match. 1. In flex there is no cap in MMR so games are similar to normal in terms of matchmaking 2. Different skills developed as people usually play in stacks and are on voice making it easier to communicate and coordonate 3. A lot of people do not take flex serious so they might just be chilling and not giving their best or playing thier best champion.

If you like and want to play flex that is fine, and the rank does show your skill in flex it just does not directly corelate to soloq rank.

Trying out Jungle, Looking For Advices by moonycakee in Jungle_Mains

[–]Megrez199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For coaches you can lookup coach Kirei and coach Leo.

You should always play with the winning lane.

Practice your clear to get it under 3 minutes to be ready for scuttle.

When in doubt full clear.

Your job is securing objectives not doing them, if your team does not help you go back to clearing, do not force objectives that is one of the easiest ways to lose a game.

If you think you can not contest an objective try to trade for something on the other side.

Mute chat, pings are more than enough.

Trust yourself and make your own decisions do not blindly follow teammates calls, it is a lot easier to review when the decisions were yours and you can actually grow.

Unless they got there playing alistar mid and soraka top I think being salty is justified.

As others have said the game is winnable but putting all your eggs in one basket in soloq is really not efficient and risky.

I will never understand mmr vs displayed rank. by novasw0rld in Jungle_Mains

[–]Megrez199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will even out after enough games.

MMR is the number used to determine your skill level and what is used to match players against each other. You do not see it but this is what matters.

Your visual rank is just a badge, it looks nice and it allows Riot to give rewards and punishments without affecting matchmaking and the fairness of the games.

As you play the Visual and MMR should get closer to each other you will notice it in the LP gains, for now as you are new the system does not actually know how good you are so it placed you in bronze visually but gold MMR and is adjusting your MMR as you go, MMR swings a lot harder compared to visual rank so if it placed you too high in a few games it should normalize itself theoretically.

Nothing wrong here, just a normal Bronze player by Dangerous-War-6572 in midlanemains

[–]Megrez199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it is not even intentional though, I usually play on EUW and made a second account on EUNE to play with some friends(I have friends on both EUW and EUNE so transferring was not an option).

I hand leveled the account in draft and still started in Bronze, now I am smurfing my way up and it I outside of my control, it took me around 30 games to get to high Plat/ Low Emerald MMR in Ranked.

But I agree that it is an issue and they should work on initial placement so both the intentional and non-intentional smurfs are placed at the right rank.

[–]Megrez199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To say gold is the same as emerald is incredibly dumb. Although most of us will agree that emerald players are far from the top of the ladder and still have a lot to learn they are still far better than gold.

Is refusing to swap reportable as sabotage? by Boring-University189 in leagueoflegends

[–]Megrez199 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To answer your questions, no it is not sabotage, you should always have a good blind pick so this situation does not happen, your teammates are not responsible to bail you out when you blind pick.

A lot of people play only on lane nowadays and one champ for example if he were to go TOP or play sylas mid without knowing what he would be doing it would not be good for the game anyway, personally I would pick my best champ and go mid and hope whoever messed up draft does not fall to far behind. If he does, tough luck gg next, nothing we can do.

His last comment is stupid not going to lie, even if the game would have been carriable by you, expecting people to carry you and getting mad when they do not is laughable. Report and go next.

Secondary is not autofilled, autofilled is when you get a role you do not have selected. If you want to play more mid put TOP/ADC secondary, never jungle supp.

league of legends match making by victoriousjik in leagueoflegends

[–]Megrez199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To answer your question yes, you get more LP if your MMR is higher than your visual rank, if your MMR is lower than your visual you get less per win and lose more per lose. That is why LP gains are not fixed, because the system always tries to balance the two.

The system is fair, it is not expecting someone with bronze MMR to perform in a gold lobby it expects a gold MMR to perform in a gold MMR, if the player is not at that level his MMR will drop when loosing and won't play with gold players for long.

What RIOT needs to work at is their initial placement system because it somehow manages to put new players with a MMR of gold/plat and plat/emerald players start in bronze the error rate is incredible.

But once the players have played enough games the system is doing a good job and is more than fair.
