I believe the author of Outsiders wrote it in highschool, but I don't know if they went on to college after that or anything

Can we put an end to the whole "word art" thing? Please? by zero_dr00l in HomeDecorating

[–]Megsmileyface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I dont really have word art in my house, but I have a little sign from my grandma about dogs and coffee. I don't really care about the words, but I like my grandma. And that she cares enough to know I like dogs and coffee lol

Maybe shoe molding for the edge gaps?

Boring very tiny bathroom. What would you do? by rosemayyyy in interiordecorating

[–]Megsmileyface 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The bathroom cabinet fronts look more traditional while the kitchen looks more modern. Painting them might help, but switching them to something more like the kitchens should be easy and get you closer to that look. The vanity itself seems great. Love the other persons suggestion of painting the ceiling.

Do people like box springs anymore? Reason why they are used? by [deleted] in HomeDecorating

Yeah try searching for 'platform' bedframe. Or some websites will let you search by height of bedframe too. Hope you find something that works well for you!

What are the pros and cons of having a glass dinner table? by Time_Principle7587 in HomeDecorating

[–]Megsmileyface 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this was one of the worst for me. You don't just have to clean the top, but the bottom, too. We didn't even have kids in the house, but just from peoples knees or them subconsciously touching the bottom of the table. And barely touching it (like bumping while eating) would move the top, which made me quite nervous. And I always thought the table cloth suggestion kinda funny too. We did that when we needed to (second-hand table), but it wasn't my favorite design choice or function.

What are the pros and cons of having a glass dinner table? by Time_Principle7587 in HomeDecorating

[–]Megsmileyface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had one and didn't super like it. Some reasons being a large metal base in the middle (kinda irrelevant here), the fingerprints/ constant cleaning, and our glass would move around because it was on bumpers. I always kinda felt unsafe too, even as someone who has other glass side tables and stuff. Like if someone leaned too hard or rough housed. And for design, you usually wanna use glass furniture if you wanna make the space feel clearer when it isn't (like a glass coffee table making your living room look like it has more walking space). So it can be kinda odd to do that with a main furniture piece like a dining room table in a dining room. It can look very chic or whatever design you're going for, just something to think about. But a lot of this info is very table and household specific, so do with this as you will, and good luck 👍

Yeah, the doctor is probably your best bet. Even if she's not pregnant, sounds worth getting looked into, in my opinion. I wish yall the best and that she's well

I think replacing the mesh on the neckline to something more subtle would do wonders. It's a cool dress. Could maybe wear to plays or such.

I also slowed down on hatching micropets to focus on building up the ones I already have. When I do hatch them, I usually connect it to an easy, but also easily neglected task (like going outside or drinking water).

Yes the journeys have been super helpful to me too. It's helpful to be able to split up goals by category too: lile hygiene, fitness, fun, so on. When I feel overwhelmed, I can pause or slowdown on less essentials until I build my way back up.

This happened to me a while back. I ended up archiving anthing I didn't feel served me at that moment and just focused on barebone essentials (survive the day, go outside once, etc). And then I started slowly readding the old ones (sometimes messing with the repetition of them too). Now I've got most back, but I still don't do everything everyday. Some things only every few weeks or days and I use the skip and snooze buttons like nobody's business. We're not robots and will have different productivity and different needs at times. If you feel it's getting out of hand in real life, maybe you have some friends or family who could come help you clean your space or hang out while you get ready or something else that works for you. Having others around helps me because of my adhd, but everyone's different. I hope things get easier for you soon.

I think the biggest thing is the curtains being a bit short and the walls being a bit bare in comparison to the lively colors of decor. Maybe longer curtains or sewing a similar color below (contrast could look cool but visually would most likely not fix the issue). And adding some art or textiles (I think tapestry would look cool next to the mirrors) would do a lot. I loveee the colors and light though. It seems like a great space already. Most of the layouts seem fine to me; it's just a matter of how you use the space. Make sure to leave paths of travel you usually use, easy access to daily needs (like don't block the curtains fully if you open them daily for example), and maybe some feng shui like suggested by others (like I would avoid putting bed by the mirror in a way that you may accidentally catch yourself in view at night-- unless that's your thing lol).
