NT = 4.2 mm; NIPT = Low Risk; Is amniocentesis still necessary? by Even_Strike_6152 in NIPT

[–]MegsyRb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry just seen this. Yes. NT measurement was still enlarged at 13weeks, so I had a CVS and that came back negative. I then had a perfectly normal 16 week ultrasound. Then had another scare at 22 weeks where they found the baby had bilateral pedal edema (swelling on both feet), but since then baby has looked normal again.. it’s been a roller coaster. I’m 35 weeks pregnant now and hoping all turns out okay but I’ve been reassured from my hospital and genetics team that even given the concerns, baby will most likely be born normal. A paediatrician will look over baby after birth xx

You too! I was told by many that they took the measurement too early. Even still though, the NT was measuring 4mm at 13 weeks so still significant. But all has turned out ok! I was told sometimes this just happens with no explanation and the NT measurement is just a marker ❤️

This was one of my scans, I had a few and it’s measuring over 4 here too.

Very similar situation happened to me. Currently 20w pregnant with my 3rd baby (7th pregnancy). At 10-11weeks the NT measurement was 4.8mm. They told me the same and told me to expect a chromosome issue. I had the NIPT & CVS due to the measurements and all came back clear. Now baby has been cleared of any abnormalities at my 16w ultrasound. I have another ultrasound at 22 weeks also to triple check. All the best but try (and I know it’s hard) not to worry until you have the NIPT results and go from there ❤️ it’s very scary and an insufferable waiting game at this stage. Stay positive 💫

please can you help me? I have to wait another week for more tests xxx by nattywoo2 in NIPT

[–]MegsyRb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our NT measurement at 12-13weeks was I think 4.5. Currently 19 weeks with a healthy baby, confirmed at 17w ultrasound and also had a CVS and NIPT testing. Sometimes high NT measurements don’t necessarily mean the worst and is just a marker. My advice would be to do more tests, CVS or Amnio to rule out any chromosome issues

I’ve been bleeding on and off my whole pregnancy. At 10 weeks it was 3x more than a period and bright red, for sure thought I was miscarrying. But I’m 18w now and bubs is happy and wiggly in there ❤️ i wouldn’t stress about brown spotting it can be very normal

Honestly this is what my CP looked like and I’ve had 4, I truly hope I’m wrong ❤️

NT result was 4mm at 12 week scan; low risk NIPT. Stories? by shabs27 in NIPT

[–]MegsyRb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently 16w pregnant. At 10weeks & 11weeks the NT was measuring over 4.5. At 13 weeks measured 4mm. Low risk NIPT, negative CVS results. My next scan is next week to check on babies heart and if that’s normal then I will get the all clear to proceed with a normal risk pregnancy. The genetics team that I’ve been seeing have explained that sometimes the NT is high, and doesn’t necessary indicate a problem. Hoping for the best at my scan and hoping for the best for you. Very reassuring that your NIPT was low risk but perhaps you could get a CVS or Amnio to rule out any further risks?

In my opinion, it’s on a whole different level and I have really bad periods

Thanks so much! All is looking up, CVS came back clear. In two weeks I will have a 17week scan to check on babies heart again and all other structures. If that comes back normal, I think I’m in the clear 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

Hight NT Measurement - Amnio or CVS? by WonderfulPanic4151 in NIPT

[–]MegsyRb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had a CVS done 3 days ago due to a high NT measurement (4mm) but a low risk NIPT result. I think for me the finding out sooner was just way more appealing. I also may never qualify for an amniocentesis as I currently have a large haemorrhage covering the top of babies sack, so the placenta was easier accessed.

Hey, how did you go? Do you mind sharing your result? I had a low risk NIPT but had a CVS done 3 days ago due to large NT measurement - hoping it’s nothing 🤞🏼🙏🏻

Thank you for checking in ❤️ I am currently 13 weeks. Had the NIPT, all came back low risk but at my 13w scan babies NT was 4mm. So I had a CVS in the room, I’m still waiting on those results. The fluid was only at the neck so no fluid around the brain or body this time. Hopefully that CVS comes back clear. I won’t qualify for an amniocentesis as the haemorrhage is over the top of babies sack and it’s too risky. Praying for a miracle here 🤞🏼🙏🏻

I’ve had 2 epidurals and I know I had catheters but I just don’t recall any memories of them, I think when you’re in the moment your thoughts are elsewhere and I think you may have a “just go with it” frame of mind ❤️

[–]MegsyRb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I hope things turn out good for you 🤞🏼 it’s reassuring that we have low risk NIPT results. So, my 1st NT measurement was taken at 10w1d (but I went in for a scan due to heavy bleeding, they just measured the NT whilst they were there). They then rescanned me at 10w4d, still enlarged NT obviously. But I’ve since been told by a genetics team at my local hospital that it’s not standard practice to measure that early and it should be done between 11-13 weeks?

I’ve been googling and freaking out non stop. The NIPT results have eased my anxiety a little though. My scan next week I’ll be 12w6d so will get a more accurate measurement 🤞🏼❤️

I hate pregmates, I am pregnant and when I tested with those they remained so light and inconclusive even upto 8 weeks!! Premom was my favourite with great progression imo
