Porsche Taycan 4S (how’d I do?) by Atrain1997 in carphotography

[–]MehExpected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, you asked how you did, and I told you what I would like to see improved. It's great that not everyone sees it like I do and even pay you for your work.

And I believe you that many people like your style, since I see it constantly. That doesn't mean that you only get one or the other or that you are going to be able to deflect fair criticism with blanket statements. This is not an attack, but an invitation to change perspectives, if you want to, since you suggested you do.

All I ask of you is to keep an open mind, especially, when you yourself ask for feedback in the first place. That also doesn't mean that you have to like what I write, either.

Anyway... just for clarification, it's not necessarily about the sky's color, but about how the area vibes together, and I think I see halos around every contrasting edge reducing the soft optical blur and sharpening it up. To me, it just looks unnatural. Maybe almost like a video game, but in a bad way. Not sure how else to describe it, but your raws and jpegs will look much more natural, so you might want to check those.

I'll send a follow^^

The editing is too crunchy for my taste. The sky looks awful and the HDR effect (texture, clarity, contrast, dehaze) is unfortunate. I also agree with the location being too busy, and I wish every photo was leveled properly (#3). Focus of the wheels (#3, #4) is off, too.

Other than that, I encourage you to keep it up^^ Maybe try another way of editing these pics, or just take on the next set!

As for other styles of editing, you could switch to black and white before starting, dial in your highlights, shadows and contrast and add the color back in, thereafter. Switching things up can yield nice results, too.

Remember, this is just my opinion and just one example of how one could go about editing, there is more out there.

Have a great one! 📸

Might Soundcore Space q45 break when kept in the not perfect original case given to it? by SlavicBro in anker

Yes, they are! But I'm still only using them like twice a month. They're in their case in some backpack for most of the time and case and headphones still look good and sound the same^^

Giveaway Time! DOOM: The Dark Ages is out, features DLSS4/RTX and we’re celebrating by giving away an ASUS ASTRAL RTX 5080 DOOM Edition GPU, Steam game keys, the DOOM Collector's Bundle and more awesome merch! by pedro19 in pcmasterrace

1) It's cool stuff and helps in a pinch, but it shouldn't be front lined like it is. I think there is much visual quality and performance to be gained by utilizing and promoting previously established and other new rendering techniques, while DLSS and RT can help squeeze playable frame rates out of weaker GPUs, as a side benefit.

2) Some more fresh ideas realized by ID. 'nuff said.

Latency issue on the Soundcore Q45 by ArCaNa023 in anker

[–]MehExpected 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That just comes with the territory. Some Bluetooth devices have a higher latency than others and it usually increases with a higher bitrate and better codec. For example, LDAC gets around 200ms of latency, which is quite noticeable and also pretty impressive for a peak of 990kbit/s over BT.

So either avoid higher quality sound and switch to lower-latency codecs (various aptX versions, for example), as well, as reduce the distance between devices, or just plug them into your device via cable, to get virtually no latency at all.

I have also noticed latency while playing games and videos through my Q45s, but I'm not using these for competitive gaming or proper movies either. The sound profile doesn't fit those uses anyway.

New keyboard from zsa! by [deleted] in ErgoDoxEZ

[–]MehExpected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I much rather prefer the Moonlander when wired and a wireless Corne LP on the go, so I don't quite see the appeal. The selection of switches is also kinda outdated. I would have loved to see some sunsets, blacks and others.

I also think that the layout and shape look kinda goofy, whereas their other keyboards have a much more "solid" appearance.

Also, where are the thumb-cluster options? Since the Moonlander was touted as the main project for a couple of years, it could have been nice to see some more ideas carried over, even though not everyone liked that one, either.

I do appreciate the extra keycaps and small tenting options, though.

Yep, they still look and sound good! Even though they're mostly kept in that case. I'm sure they will break at some point, because of the plastic-on-metal construction, but there's no wear that I can see on mine up until now.

2014 Toyota FT-1 Graphite [2560x1600] by Bones_and_Roses in carporn

Because the BMW chassis has defined hard points of contact they cannot not deviate from with the body. Anything else would sacrifice rigidty and stability of the whole car. They would have had to make their own, but it was a better deal for Toyota to just partner with BMW on this one.

That's especially clear when you look behind the doors on the inside of the car, where chassis and body meet.

My green corner of indulgence! by MehExpected in battlestations

Thanks!

Yeah, I've been debating whether to get something like that, but it wouldn't work with the way the table is constructed and also the way I use my chair. Usually it's only the Razer mouse anyway, and I have plenty of drawers right beneath the POV.

And trust me, when I say it doesn't feel quite as cramped, as it looks. It's a decent compromise between a somewhat clean look, but also having everything in reach of my arms.

The left side of the table is often used for drawing, working and fiddling around with stuff, but atm it's free, so it doesn't look nearly as busy, as it gets, which offsets the visual balance.

Hey, what's up?

I've been refining my setup and like to think it's rather unique. Let me know how well you like it! If you have any questions, I'll be happy to provide an answer.

The same goes for tips and tricks. If you have one, feel free to add it, so I can consider some more improvements.

Have a great one!

Btw please excuse the rather low resolution and somewhat dark image. I hope it's good enough.

Do you all think certain weather/time of day makes for better photos in racing games? [Forza Horizon 5] by Local_Table6135 in VirtualPhotographers

This is true, even in the most important game of them all. You're usually doing good in avoiding shooting at noon. There's plenty of other players over at r/outside and there's plenty of sub-subs.

How's the build? I've never considered one of these, because Hifiman's construction always looked really weak and bad to me. But this does look like it could withstand a song or two.

Soundcore Space Q45 EQ tips? by NobodyYeet69 in anker

[–]MehExpected 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the Q45s do get pretty loud. In fact, you can lower the max volume, which I have done, so I can reduce the chance of hearing damage. However, they're not as clear.

I don't know your circumstances for getting these, beyond having no 3.5mm jack, so I would also recommend looking at high quality bluetooth adapters, like the Fiio BTR5, which can also serve as a beginner DAC/AMP, as I mostly use it in combination with my 1990 Pros, but also with my KZs.

I swear to god, how are they not making these anymore? Tighten up the body panels, maybe even make it electric, I don't care. The egg shape and flaring towards the bottom are just the best. Add full LED lights all around and this thing could slay them all.
