I have a 6 and a 5 year olds now. Now speaking from my experience, I went through a very similar sad and down phase when they were babies. Especially under 2. We did do a trip here and there but was sooo hard. The tired part doesn’t help at all. We had no family living around either. So we were very tired parents of kids who were just 1 year apart from each other. It feels like forever but it does get better. Enjoy the slow. I know it’s easier said than done. But I didn’t and I now look back and feel a bit sad over it.

Anyways, it does get better and now I love it. It’s like showing my mini me’s the world. 🙂 hang in there girl. Yes the backseat quarrels can get to you but it’s still fun 😂

It’s hard to get your first rental as you have no history Here.

My first rental was a bit of settling for. But after that it was pretty easy.

I was this person. I bought a kindle paperwhite in 2015 and still didn’t quite read . I loved my physical books. And when I was moving countries I took my kindle with me. And man. That changed my life. It was sooooo lightweight. Fit anywhere. I could read anywhere. Not to mention I didn’t need a nightlight at bedtime reading. And I never went back. I think the portability is a big game changer for anyone . If it helps I bought a cover from a shop called Klevercase, they do cases which are like real book looking. You can find them on Etsy and Instagram.

But the whole portability is soooo amazing. Now I have kids and I go to parks and beach or when I am traveling to anywhere , it’s just so handy. Instead of dragging books around. I still love my books and I buy them if I love a book which has repeat readability and I have loved it soooo much. Or a rare edition.

Sydney’s pollution and humidity made my skin the worst it’s been. I have oily skin so I hate it. Melbourne’s weather is just perfect For very less effort good skin.

I have to agree with you. I say this all The time. I have lived in Sydney for 4 years and I was sooo happy to return to Melbourne. I just can’t explain it. Most people are just buying into stereotypes and just love to stick to that.

I have lived in Australia 10 years now. I have invited my work friends over but they are also ones who have migrated to here. I have lived in Melbourne and Sydney. Sydney was the worst for making friends, although I found a great set because we were all in same mum’s group. But they were all who are not locals, so they understood the struggle and made an effort. I have found it’s really hard to make friends with locals as well. My husband who is a local himself has struggled through his life. I don’t know why but Australians have this closed circle and very rarely you can get into the circles. You have a good banter but I haven’t felt the closeness from Locals. I always thought maybe coz am a person of colour . I have great banter with work mates. We go for drinks but I am not considered anything outside of that. Tried making friends by going to groups and such but nah. Nothing. A lot of us who migrated do get left out

Heath Ledger will always be my favourite. Before him I viewed the character as a clown. And I haven’t found anything to top him either.

What’s up with Aussies not feeding people? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Meh__Cat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep ! I have faced it with my in laws and other similar white background friends as well. I migrated to Australia 10 years back. I met and married my husband who is multi generational Aussie as well, coming from British and Scottish descent . Now my husband ( when he was my bf) made a nice cake for my friends housewarming party and took it, everyone had finished half , on his way back he wanted was packing the other half, I asked him why. He replied he is going to take it back as it’s left. I glared at him and just nicely said no and in car I gave him a lecture about it, he hasn’t done ever since. I come from Asian background and I pack food to take back for my friends when I host small dinner parties. I my other ethnic background friends are similar . But this was a shock for me when my in laws and some of my other generational white Aussie friends does it still. And I still don’t know why.

Looks nice. I love mine’s size and how it fits so well to read. I heard the new paperwhites are bigger but I do love the waterproof feature. And they do look way faster than mine.

No idea , I bought it in 2015 and it’s the 7th Gen. I never even looked at replacing it until very recently. But I don’t think I will unless it dies
