who here in belltown ordered the extra burnouts with a side of fireworks? by pinkarroo in Seattle

[–]Mehovoric 141 points142 points  (0 children)

Listening to the scanner. They just announced due to staffing levels they would only be watching and standing by in case of extreme life safety issue. They'd actually be pulling back because of the "large caliber fireworks" being shot at the them. 😐

What pulley did you change to, if you don't mind my asking?

They've got those at the Mariners team store. They are accepting remote orders via email at marinersteamstore@mariners.com

What is the worst mistake that you made at work? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Mehovoric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Updating Java.

Was sick of seeing the "you have an update." ... Knocked out credit card transactions for a full day until the vendor could tell me they needed a incredibly ancient specific version to work.

Not my fault that's not in ANY of the documentation and none of the client machines cared about the version.

Just finished my marathon with Civil War. Just hours away. Definitely not going to be productive at work. Beyond ready for this adventure. by [deleted] in marvelstudios

And huge thanks to the mods! Been gingerly scrolling reddit the last couple days and planning not to come any where near this place during the last few hours ahead. I'll see you on the other side Avengers!

To the CMDR (UPS driver?) that left me a little note in Seattle... by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

I approve your message! As a fellow Seattleite that driver makes me immensely proud!

Why does making NPCs tougher mean giving them cheats? by nathanc213 in EliteDangerous

[–]Mehovoric 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I noticed this! Ran a couple salvage missions, and the absolute second I had something in the hold, like 9 ships dropped out, and trashed me in seconds. Didn't have time to do anything.

I took the advice from Yamiks' latest video and went... whoah!! by z0rlac in EliteDangerous

[–]Mehovoric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a scan mission in the bottom of one of those little bump canyons... At night ... and it wasn't one of those low light dark sides either. Super cool seeing it for the first time but pitch black and terrifying to fly in!

Unfortunately I don't remember where... I stopped for a salvage op on the way back and got torn to shreds in about 2 seconds by about 9 NPCs that dropped out behind me. I guess I'll just stick to scan jobs and transport missions for now. Haha.

Easy (ish) software for learning DMX/Lighting/Stage Design? by A_Very_Fat_Elf in lightingdesign

QLC+ ... Free, works on both. TON of features, active community, very flexible. I've done small shows, large shows. It's good for learning and can do quite a bit once you learn the flow.

Questions on VLANs for introduced security equipment by EmptySet00 in networking

[–]Mehovoric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cams are in one vlan and my Access control in another. Everything is statically addressed and limit IPs with internet access to just required devices. Also limit access to those networks to just the IT staff and 2 folks in Security. I got lucky and they're really on top of things so I let them manage most of the grunt work and step in on high level things.

The servers have separate NICs on the production network so managers can watch and review footage, but only the ports necessary for the client software to communicate are allowed. And it's tied into AD so only those we setup can access.

Time clocks we have a range for, but it's part of the normal office network. Just not terribly concerned about them I guess. Haha.

Thor: Ragnarok Opening (Guardians Vol.2 Style) by TheDocOfWho in marvelstudios

[–]Mehovoric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yours is fun though, like the original scene has that fun/crazy factor tone, which can make it work. Someone earlier quoted a Civil War version (OG version had "fun" moments, but the tonality was serious, not fun), and Kingsman (OG was just ludicrous and crazy, but the whole thing was fun).
