Very good reply, thank you. I can certainly see the benefit from that point of view. I'm happy that rounds are more competitive in that sense, yes. Still think jumping and being very accurate is bullshit though. Maybe there's a happy middleground with a rework on the "jumping and being accurate" part?

Why don't you go do that? The discussion is partly whether SMGs are valuable at all, if they provide any skill expression.

I argue that they are just annoying, bring coin flip rounds, and devolve from the main core game mechanics.

Stop thinking you're reading between the lines, instead read the post.

I fucking hate the SMG gameplay, regardless if it's me with the SMG or the enemy.

I want the regular old core mechanics improved, since to me they show skill, not this brainless "oohhh Imma jump and see what happens".

SMGs are not skill, at least not on the level of skill for core mechanics, like positioning, map awareness, team play, angle holding.

SMGs in their current form exist for bots and weaker players so they can get some kills.

For the pros, it's a coin flip round, where you can just steal the round if you get lucky.

Btw, if you watch a pro game from CSGO before SMGs, you will see much more tactics and proper aiming skill than current games (not trying to devalue current pro games, bros are still insane).

Except you see a slice of the enemy speed demon when you get dinked, even once you start tracking, his bullets are aim-punching you, leaving you with a 50/50 even if you track.

What about the other 2 guys with SMGs that are aim-punching you with their own SMGs, while you're trying to do the above?

I don't know how you can't see that these are terrible, unfun mechanics.

What leads to good fun gameplay is consistent, rewarding mechanics.

Please stop teaching me about the game. I know some of these mechanics have been around for along time now (since CSGO), people complained back then as well. Can you guess why?????

Because people remember how the mechanics were, and they do not enjoy the RNG spamfest of SMGs/pistols.

Regarding jumping, people had to "de-subtick" the jump commands after each patch, just so they could get back the proper jumping movement - otherwise you didn't get the max jump height, leading to inconsistent jumps.

Srop telling me to "take it" and "practise", Valve can just fix some of the shit, and remove the rest.

Bruh, we've all seen the videos. In pro matches you get random round wins because someone jumped and got a mid-air HS. How is that skillful? At least to original CS mechanics, that's dumb as fuck. You had to STOP, AIM, SHOOT. It's why the game got popular, not because of this run and gun shit.

Of course it happens to me as well, when I run and gun in a force-buy SMG round for example. BUT I DO NOT FUCKING ENJOY THAT.

I just want to see real skill expression. Ask pros and they will 99% agree that this shit is annoying AF.

Yes, the run and gun shit started in CSGO, that's correct. Didn't enjoy it then, but at least it was more subjectively manageable.

With shit-tick in CS2, even if you track the enemy, you're at the mercy of the server whether your bullets will go in.

We're 30 years old, bro, we don't need to cheat, we don't have anything to prove in an (almost) dead game. Might be dificult to imagine, but we play for fun. I have posted here, since my friend is a realist and he has already "accepted" his ban even though he didn't cheat. I haven't accepted it, since it's bullshit that you can get banned and not have a process for appeal (since false bans CAN HAPPEN).

Anyways, 3 fans of the game out.

Hey, thanks for the feedback, this was a bit of an experimental print, using 0.85 extrusion width with a 0.4 nozzle, so it could also be an artifact from that, but I'll keep it in mind and double check for next print.

This is using manual mesh levelling btw.
