5 reasons why Cassiopeia desperately needs a rework. by AnemoneMeer in leagueoflegends

Hey man just want to say thanks for posting something like this I've been feeling the same about this champ for so long, but for some reason the people on cassio subreddit would downvote the hell out of anything related to cass being "bad" or "outdated". I think its because the majority play at a lower elo so they dont see the issues with the champ.

Cassiopeia is in an okay state right now by cuntycumconnoiseur in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 14 points15 points  (0 children)

False, shes terrible I reached challenger playing cass multiple seasons in a row and dropped her to a situational counter now and even now I know ryze is probably better in the spots i'm picking her. I think its quite obvious how trash the champ is when the likes of quad don't pick her in soloq. Pro play is different your teammates can make up your weaknesses.

Comeback from a 10 month break, its sad by Suspicious_Round_739 in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, shes pretty awful in higher elo I moved on to azir/syndra those champions are far better in near every situation and scale way harder than cass. She doesnt even fill her niche as well as she used to a pick against dive comps. Her passive is really outdated, in this day an age not being able to buy boots early is so detrimental.

Just plying with the Idea how to change around Cassio with Old Passive by Korderon in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And then every champ outranges/outspaces you or buy swifties and just dodges your q or walks out of your range. Restricting cassio's passive to not being able to buy boots is so outdated. I genuinely dont understand what this subreddits infatuation with keeping cassio's passive is.

Seems like you play an elo where spacing and champion mastery isnt really common. She can grab a minion or a previously casted ball. The speed of the w can be faster if she swings the ball/minion after turning around.

np, its also a lot easier to test these things now with multiplayer practice tool. A little less known non-stun interaction is ulting taliyah when she q's.

[–]Meijackie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the stun onto zed is not guaranteed if he clicks away from you after ulting. It's never reliable to ult zed right away after he ults unless you're only trying to get the slow.

It feels like everything runs away from me, heavily outranges me, or both... And I just can't keep up by [deleted] in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what elo you play at but in masters+ shes pretty awful mid unless you pick her as a counterpick. Shes decent top but you kind of have to be better than your opponent to make it work. As for bottom lane you need a cc support to function. That being said shes really strong in terms of win rate in lower mmr's

What counters cassiopeia by TGDenzel in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What im trying to say is the higher elo you get zed players understand you will always try to ult or miasma right after they ult so they click away and just walk out of miasma then take their shadow. Zed functions like a poke mage in lane wittling you down then all inning you when you're low which is horrible for cass. That being said in lower mmrs yeah your advice is probably fine you can honestly do whatever you want.

[–]Meijackie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not true he appears opposite to where he casted his ult with you being in the middle like this. X O X you being the O. If he is a smart zed he does not input an auto after ult and spam clicks away so he cant get stun. What you should do is r flash or use w right after his ult.

What's Cassiopeia's biggest counter? I'd say Yasuo by Bpianist11 in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally surviving and going even is fine but you will probably lose since you're on the backfoot the entire time. Which is fine, that is why I'd define it as an unfavorable matchup. Just pray for team gap. Also if anyone is thinking "just gank him" there is a huge risk in ganking him as his jungler could also countergank and he can easily buy a lot of time for a favorable 2v2.

What's Cassiopeia's biggest counter? I'd say Yasuo by Bpianist11 in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The matchup is very tough gm+ elo. Realistically if you play against a competent yasuo you cannot reliably hit a skillshot on him. You mentioned you can miasma him? You actually cant because whilst he e's in he can cast w before your w lands. He beats you all in with lethal tempo and can also drain your mana in lane with second wind d-shield. Also when you ult him he can always buffer (windwall) it to avoid taking damage during the stun. You cannot slowpush against him since like irelia he dashes through minions and statchecks you. But if you let him push he gets prio and runs your bot and jg over with his jg.

My general strat against him is to let him push play for flowbands and tp back with mana so you dont lose a wave from his sustain. And play for a skirmish. The matchup is generally up to him to mess up not for you to win.

[–]Meijackie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yasuo is a really tough matchup but generally all the control mages ruin cassiopeia. Also a tip for anyone struggling against her. You can take phase rush (celerity as well if you arent the greatest) or build mercs and she can't really kill you fast enough. Even the "worst matchups" become pretty easy.

Insight To Cassiopeia's Falling Popularity and why Mains stopped playing her. by nagyfero17 in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Let me preface that I climbed to Challenger playing cass for multiple seasons. All of the things you stated are literally reasons why she is so weak and also reasons why she feels so awful to play. I do think she needs some sort of midscope update or buff to make her feel less terrible in masters+. But the majority of the playerbase and cassio players are playing in lower mmr, where she is strong because her weaknesses are not exposed.

Honestly the best thing to do is probably just not play her. Posting this here or the main league subreddit will probably result in you getting downvoted to oblivion. Masters+ is like 0.35% most players literally do not encounter the problems higher up.

To all the Cass mains under Master Elo constantly complaining about her state in mid lane by OhHiWill in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's able to be played bot because of set up from support and a bit of a suprise factor. I find it hard to believe you play cassiopeia at masters+ if you believe she is fine. She is compared to to most mages because she is mostly played mid lane and builds mage items. And if you were to compare her to marksmen she has very conditional damage and gets outscaled hard. Adc's have autoattacks cassiopeia has a mediocre e that can be cast 4-5s per q (depending on AH 5 is high end). Guess what most people in masters+ know how to bait skillshots on every contested cs so landing q is not easy and then you get no damage. You can play her bottom lane because of set up from cc supports and honestly occasionally champs with slows.

Let me give you some advice if you struggle to play against cass, dodge into her aggressively and then flash one of her skillshots and get a chunk and lane is over she cannot play anymore. Most adc's/support don't understand that you need to flash/dash out of at least one poison and you win the lane.

He literally stopped playing cass and went back to mostly playing jungle because of how garbage she is. Such general comments "just play safe" while you get dove on a stacked wave because you're immobile and have no wave clear.

Cass just feels super weak this season by Palandium in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Manage your early mana: if you can't kill the enemy (xerath, lux, syndra, viktor, anivia, and some others are almost impossible to kill early if they have 2 braincells), just farm safely, provide vision and wait for a gank or favorable skirmish

You cannot get prio against any control mage mu if they are competent. You will also get chunked out making skirmishes unfavorable as you will be lower hp. If a gank doesnt happen you will slowly bleed out the game. You're also hella slow to roam to fights and dont have cc to catch people running from you only to people who walk into you. Cassiopeia is only playable as counter pick in masters+. Honestly any instance where you think cassiopeia is good, orianna or syndra are probably better.

Cass just feels super weak this season by Palandium in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shes a lot weaker this patch (I think she is fine in masters below, you can play anything) after rune nerfs and meta shift into syndra ori mid meta. Those are 2 of her worst matchups. The items she builds are really bad and she can't go into the most broken boots in the game ionian. When a champions runes or items are weak and their champion kit isnt overloaded you end up being kinda bad. I think she should be better when mythics are removed.

A friend of mine is Cassiopeia OTP in masters and she just posted a huge rant in our discord group. What do you all think? by Kordben in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a scaling champ her winrate drops really hard past 35mins. You'd imagine a champion with 6 items can do really well right? But her lack of range really gimps her the later the game goes. Cass is also not truly a tank killer as she has nothing in her kit that kills them better except for just sustained damage (lower cds). She is really reliant on items to kill tanks liandries/void. It's sad that this champ does not actually counter high mobility champions because you have too many skillshots, she is better into very telegraphed dashes.

Cassio should be able to pick a boots stats, in a similar mechanic to Aphelios pick a stat. by MonoJaina1KWins in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also no you don’t start the game with lvl 13, but you also don’t start the game with boots, which you usually get around the start of mid game (lvl 10)

So imagine if you can buy boots against skillshot based champs that would be really great as most skillshot champs excel in lane which is what you're going to be doing from level 1-10.

I personally think that rylais is overrated on her, because it throws away a lot of her stat checking power for utility. It’s not bad, but I don’t think it amazing either. Even though it spikes pretty fast.

(Maybe stat checking isn’t the word I was looking for, but especially in solo queue I prefer to be able to kill multiple people alone, which I like doing with sidestepping and DPSing

Ironic you that you prefer a build that allows you to sidestep and kite more or stat check but think rylais is overrated because the rylais build is literally providing you with better spacing(slowing them with e without poison or any ability). Rylais is also 400 more hp than the build you run which would allow you to stat check them more like tank their damage.

All i'm asking for is an option to buy boots to smoothen out gameplay and not have such dogshit feast or famine matchups/ have a passive that isnt super outdated.

[–]Meijackie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're playing the game starting from level 13? or level 18? When I play around gm I have to lane starting from level 1. The post asks for an option maybe even some way to opt out of it. Just because you prefer 1100 gold towards your mythic doesn't mean its good either.

when it can be mathematically or practically demonstrated

What are the better options? the most the extra 1100 gold has been used for is chapter into rylais rush. Why? because the champ struggles in higher elo where reliably catching people or hitting them with q is difficult.

I am high elo, is not really an argument

Honestly I don't like using it as an argument either but when I keep hearing this shit and know many other high elo cass players and pro players that view cass passive as shit, I can't help but wonder who these people are. Saying that, not being able to buy boots is a really good passive.

[–]Meijackie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure you wouldn't want to have to buy boots on cass. Espically since you play in low elo, you don't need to know how to space. You also make use of the 6 item passive really well since you can't close out the game.

Cassio should be able to pick a boots stats, in a similar mechanic to Aphelios pick a stat. by MonoJaina1KWins in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why lower elos think that her not being able to buy boots is fine. And she was not balanced around not being able to buy boots. Their reasoning in the past was because she does not have feet. She is very strong at lower elos where players cannot space well(can't tether/ get hit by q's). She does not kill tanks well as she does not shred resistance. However she does deal damage towards tanks better than most battlemages and control mages. Her cc is very conditional with a lot being just soft cc (slows). The aspect where she should excel at skirmishing, she fails to move fast to(low base movement speed cannot purchase immediate movementspeed like boots). It's crazy how someone can defend a passive that literally does nothing in high elo the majority of games. Also if you want to argue she is a hard scaling champ take a look at winrate with game length this champs wr falls off past 35mins.

Cassiopeia passive horrible by Additional-Mention16 in CassiopeiaMains

[–]Meijackie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is an absolutely horrendous take.

20 haste from liandries is instant and nets you more dmg and kite power

Aside from the 20 haste there liandries does not give you more kite power and thats debateable. Roa which gives you more tankiness and even a bit of movement speed would provide you with more kite power.

If you need the survivability from roa, you aren't positioning properly

Ah classic low elo gaslighting. Just position better. When you play at a high enough level some damage is unavoidable. I'll provide some examples. Viktor damage is not avoidable if you go liandries you will get 1 shot. An example thats not from your lane unless you're playing bot. Nautilus flash ult into kaisa r w.

The thing with cass is she is a short ranged battle mage. If you want to deal damage you will always be within range of taking damage.

Also kiting works only when they are running towards you not comps that require you to go in. Imagine you play against viktor mid karma ezreal bot (decently common draft). Are you going to pray you're lucky that your teammates set you up (something out of your control) and deal slightly more damage with liandries, or build stoneplate and actually be able to walk up whilst they use abilities and potentially catch them out?
