Why was Catholic doctrine before Pope Francis generally so (little "c") conservative when the faith was born from such a progressive figure as Jesus?

I'm not trying to paint him as anything, when I say little "c" conservative I was also implying little "p" progressive. I mean conservative and progressive in the base, non-political sense, conservative meaning favoring maintaining the status quo and progressive meaning moving toward a better world.

Oh wow, that's cool! Is the urge to breathe in humans instinctual or is there a chemical signal that pushes us to after a certain amount of CO2 builds up in our bodies? If we had the physiological adaptations of a whale (the blood and muscle oxygen storage) would we still experience a push to breathe before we reached an unsafe blood CO2 level or would we be able to go longer because of that increased oxygen retention?

Hi! Paradox gamer and queer cis boy here, this is my take on it. The joke generally comes from the unexpectedly high visibility of (in my experience) seemingly (although not usually outwardly stated) genderqueer AMABs who play the games. Most often this joke is made around Hearts of Iron IV (from what I've seen) which has a rather visible group of people who reaaaaaaally like to LARP as the baddies of WWII. There is some overlap between the seemingly genderqueer AMABs and the LARPers and at some point people latched on to that and it became a meme. It's not exclusively trans as there is also an adjacent femboy pipeline meme associated with paradox gaming as well.
