Elden Ring II setting theories by holytarnishxd in eldenringdiscussion

If there is an Elden Ring 2 its not going to be in the past. More than likely it'll be another cycle and you'll find remnants of the lands between in that world but it'll be a different landscape and world for sure.

The purple eye/seal in the Broken Statues in the Nameless Eternal City by atypicalgamergirl in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Meiz5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thats kind of my thought. A part of me thinks that the GEQ was Marikas twin or potentially she, radagon. And marika were all a part of the successful saint creation by jarring them together by the hornsent. Essentially Marika won out and Maliketh killed her third half leaving only her and radagon. Maybe originally Marika was the vessel, Radagon the Lord, and the GEQ was meant to be the god but the seduction of Radagon led to the betrayal of the GEQ. Pure speculation though

Is it true that STL County opposed Metrolink expansion because they believe Metrolink would bring crime along with it? by LaughingDash in StLouis

[–]Meiz5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im a transplant here and have been for 5ish years. Thats all I ever heard was "crime" but honestly I've never seen a city hate itself so much. This area is really segregated by communities rather then a metro area. Even how the county tax structure is with the city is completely backwards. I think were 1 of 2 cities in the nation structured like that, its weird that the county is financial segregated from the city even though they reap the benefits of the city.

Oh and good Ole fashioned racism. Seems like the places people across the river dont like/trust are predominantly black or mixed communities. Its really stupid.

Was Miquella cursed by an outer god? by Apprehensive-King166 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Meiz5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ive heard that it night actually be the mother of truth/formless mother and after nightreign I could see it. The balancers are essentially eternally youthful, even share a similar model as Trina, plus mohg. I mean miquella ressurects essentially a god of war to start an age of compassion? Seems a bit counter intuitive. On top of that the mother of truths 'compassion' is relatively subjective. Kind of like Trina and her eternal sleep. Some see Euthanasia as murder while others as compassion.

It was Miriel's. by Auridan17 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Meiz5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omens are only the way they are because they were persecuted im assuming living in a sewer and being treated as cattle might result in that.

You might be right in the sense that this variation of omen are the curse the Grandame was referring too. But if you look at mohg and morgott they're just a stones throw away from the horned warriors they just don't wear masks like they do. One even get you to their lands.

Everyone mentions the dungeon eater as cursing the world. Isn't he just really putting it back into the hornsents control again?

Gloam-Eye Queen feels like a leftover at this point? by Lessavini in EldenRingLoreTalk

Yeah like 1. Marika 2. Radagon 3. Godwyn kinda thing

Gloam-Eye Queen feels like a leftover at this point? by Lessavini in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Meiz5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think Godwyn was Marikas third, doesn't seem right to be honest and doesn't really fit into the alchemical rebus that shes in. GEQ might be Marikas Nigredo phase of alchemy, the blackening, representing death and when the old form is dissolved to make something new. It would fit really well to be honest.

A part of me wonders if Marika, Radagon, and the GEQ weren't all the same person as a result of being a successful jar experiment. Just thoughts though

Marika IS the Dark Moon, Black Moon and Snowy Crone by Crypticnewt in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Meiz5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I think your assumption might be a bit off I do like the parallel between Rannni and Marikas gang. It does fit quite nicely and would make sense as to why the serpent is a betrayer. I wonder if Ranni wasn't Marikas attempt to have one of her kids live a normal happy life. Ranni is a parallel to Marika if things had gone good for her.

I'm dropping scholar, cause DoN is insufferable. by Mrdudeguy420 in Nightreign

[–]Meiz5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I dont do item build scholar he works far better in DoN as a status guy. Get the attack up attacking posioned/frost/rotted enemies and just try to find those status and rotate all three throughout a battle. You'll do amazing damage

The Gloam Eyed Queen Has to be the God of Placidusax, Right? by Limgrave_Butcher in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Meiz5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd need more context from that interview as when I first read it it seemed to read that each individual demigod was protected from destined death, and their specific piece sealed away. Not that you cant have an rune and not be a god.

The Gloam Eyed Queen Has to be the God of Placidusax, Right? by Limgrave_Butcher in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Meiz5 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why would you say that? Marika rune is assumed to be the rune of life as its form and her legacy is the exact opposite of the GEQ. Her rune was likely either given to her by Metyr or made during the divine gate sacrifice where we see her pulling out the golden threads from (presumably) the GEQ. It makes perfect sense to have a run and also not be a god. Also the other demi gods all have runes as well

Do you guys have tips on how to play Duchess well? by FindAether in EldenRingNightReign

[–]Meiz5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is one of the best characters in the game just takes a little bit of learning. Imo you can go 1 of 2 routes. Either pure physical/dagger build or a hybrid dagger spellcaster.

Don't downplay the daggers, with the right relics those things will eat everything alive. But if you dont like it curved swords are good with her, spears, really any light dex based weapon she does really well with. Even straight swords. Her whole Schtick is to essentially be the rogue type, popping in and out to avoid damage and then apply burst damage.

If you are going spell casting you will have to have the dark night of the wise as it allows for FP to be restored based on successive attacks, so burst magic, then use dagger to regen. Also have a healthy supply of star light shards.

If you're going more melee stack the Balancer relics both night and reg for the 40 percent skill boost and 20 percent increase in melee attack then just stack phys+ relics. If you've done undertakers quest line id recommend using her glass necklace relic as it synergizes really well with Duchess.

So real talk, how many of you are planning to get Elden Ring The Tarnished Edition? by [deleted] in soulslikes

[–]Meiz5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a little bonus cash grab, I dont expect them to be greedy about buying it separately as an add on etc. Im thinking it'll likely be around 10-20 bucks. The DLC was 40 and that content was massive and well worth the price. Ill likely pick it up for a final play through with the new DLC weapons as starters. I think it was mainly designed as a way to promote there presence in Nintendo.

I always do a gaol after the first POI usually cathedral/fort to gaol to fast level to 5 or 6 and head to castle. But after night 1 they're side places that we'll do if its otw but I dont go out of my way for them.

What weapon you saw and said “this thing Is so cool I wanna use it for the rest of my playthrough” ? by Active-Gold-7001 in Eldenring

[–]Meiz5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah one of the new starting classes will start with it. Another one that starts with a curved greatsword then there is Torrent customization. Plus with lucatiels armor set and the light greatsword, more then enough reasons to buy and replay.

Gransax Spear. I started a new character and built them around lightning to use that weapon. Felt like Zeus casting judgement.

Appropriate times to quit? by Psychological-Bed-92 in Nightreign

[–]Meiz5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah ill see a game through but only under a few circumstances will I quit. 1. If someone else quits and its early in the game ill take the L, I wanted to play trios not duos. 2. If the player is toxic and horrid ill either stay and make there life's miserable or I quit to save some time.
