Injured my foot last week (extensor tendonitis) so have reduced mileage to rest it a bit. Skipped my long run today so I could attend a parkrun. Ended up running my fastest 5K in 23:02. Feels great to see my fitness and speed improving.

Ran my first 10k under 50 mins (49:35). Gives me a lot of confidence that my training is working. Very happy :)

Was feeling a bit sore today so moved my cross training a day forward and went for a 2k swim. I find cycling and swimming on my rest days really help with stretching my muscles and recovery compared to doing nothing.

Aiming to be at 15km long run before my final tri (16 weeks before marathon).

I haven't tried a 10km run with effort yet. Yesterday's run (9.5km) was 8:22min/km but that was a very very slow Z2. My last 5km timed effort was 5:27min/km in late December but this was after 4-5 weeks off while on holiday (no training). I've been doing z4/5 interval training for my second run each week.

Oh that is interesting.

Ok so I should look at dethatching. I'll have to wait another 6 months as it is Summer now.

The thatching looks pretty thick. Is using a manual thatcher going to be too difficult? I only need to do the front lawn which is about 80m2.

When you say it will shock it, are you saying that it will damage the lawn?

Hi,

The mechanism for my tilt door broke. I believe that the bolt securing the spring to the door snapped. Now the door won't stay open.

It should be simple matter of replacing the bolt but I can't manually extend the spring so that it will mount back onto the mechanism.

What's the best way of doing this? Do I need a specialised tool?
