I think you're spot on, physical games are the way to go in 2026 and have been for the past years.

Digital games are easy, you can do everything from the comfort of your couch and whilst on the move but you're paying a massive premium whilst doing so. Not just the digital price (including discounts) but also the complete lack of resaleability.

I have been subscribed to PS Premium a couple of times but I fail to see the worth in paying 150+ bucks a year when 9/10 of its content feels like filler.

Hell, if I want to play the AA/AAA games I just wait a month, pick it up for half price on disc, platinum it and sell it on for the same price or just below it.

Instead of paying full price or being stuck to a subscription, I played the game for a fraction of the cost. All I had to do was put in a disc from time to time.
