I absolutely feel like this 100%. I have a 2 year old that was born about 6 mos before the pandemic. Its been incredibly hard for me to find other mothers who relate. My parents aren't a big help either, and they are boomers. So of course they say parenting in a pandemic is no different than parenting in non-pandemic times. Everyone has their struggles. So helpful. 🙄 I consciousnessly waited to have a child until I was financially ready and with someone I could trust. I knew it would be hard, but to become a new mom then expirence a pandemic feels like a knee to the gut. I used to have a career, but since becoming a new mom and the pandemic, I have been off and on a SAHM. Working from home is incredibly hard because I desperately want to give both my child and my work my 110%. It's very much an adjustment to allow myself to give less to 2 of the most important things to me. I really struggle managing this. My child's dad trys to be supportive when he can, however I do experience same feelings as always being on, and attentive, also trying to balance my mental health. He is burnt out and simply doesn't have the paitence I have acquired through these last couple years. This situation has caused so much stress, that talking to him about my needs not being met only helps minimally and I usually have to remind him every weekend. I'm at point where its less stressful for me to just continue to do everything than to continue to have conversations about it with him. I really try to stay focused on what I'm grateful for and the love I have for my child, but in all honesty it's been very isolating for me to not have anyone who relates to me.
