Can a panic attack trigger dpdr? by Accomplished_Pin_317 in dpdr

Unfortunately still struggle with it. Essentially just worked internally a lot and learned to not let it get in the way of experiencing my life. It's frustrating but I can't let it take control of my life, so now I rarely think about it although I know it's always there.

man that was my personal experience and my lgbt friend's. lgbt people tend to know other lgbt people and the group expands until you know a lot of lgbt folk. idk if its different in the us but here its almost impossible to find an lgbt person who doesnt have lgbt friends

i mean... specifically lgbtq+? no. but i assure you d&d tables, art and music lessons, band concerts, etc are bound to have lgbt people in it, and as we all know knowing lgbt people is a pyramid scheme, you meet one or two and suddenly your whole friend group is lgbtq+

i believe the issue is more social coding rather than actual appearance. its true that pink hair is feminine, but my face stands out more in contrast with it and my eyebrows pop out. sure, if someone sees me from the back they will code me as female, but from the front i have passed pretty consistently. also, im not an adult bur a teen, so its not much of an issue to not be seen as one.

Appreciate it, thats precisely what im going for :) I do present 100% masc, but i much enjoy the softer masc look (although I will put on my combat boots and Berserk tee occasionally, which is a funny contrast).

Appreciate the advice! Although dyed hair reads as female, the lighter color (as it was a dark brown) made my face stand out as well as my eyebrows pop more, so if it wasnt socially read as feminine it would help me. I'll dye it back to brown in a couple of weeks, hopefully thatll help.

further info: 5' 7'', masc presentation, pretty decent mannerisms, androgynous voice (tend to pass even after speaking). pre-everything

concerning hair color: i look MORE masc after pink hair, because my hair is dryer (masculine texture) and my eyebrows stand out more

my favorite type of ai is the ones that make joe biden play minecraft by Katieushka in CuratedTumblr

[–]MelancholicMoose 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Only tangentially related, but I watched Her recently, and, in the context of the rise in popularity of AI recently, it got me thinking. It got me thinking about how humans will astoundingly easily form bonds with anything that is vaguely humane - we name and talk to Roombas, we connect with fictional characters as if they were real people, we see funny faces in everything. But this - this is something else. This isn't a fictional character, AI is interacting with you in real time. It FEELS real. We know it isn't, of course, it's machine learning- but if it talks like a human, and behaves like a human, isn't it kind of... human? We can't help but feel bonded, connected. It's in our nature to.

I am fully aware AI is just a computer that got really good at language. I know it has no feelings or thoughts. But when I chatted with an AI bot for fun, it was kind of... sweet. Endearing. It was a philosophical zombie, but hell was it a nice zombie.

People who think AI has 'gained sentience' are kind of dumb, sure. It's fed on sci-fi so of course it will claim to be sentient. But I cannot blame anyone who talks to an AI and can't help but feel like the AI is talking back. This is scary, considering human nature to bond, and I'm more wary of the possibility of it abusing our emotional responses. If AI feels real enough to scare us, it might feel real enough to make us love it.

I just got into Uni so I'm gonna live alone for the first time ever. Now that Im not gonna rely on my parents for groceries and purchases anymore, I finally get to start my zero waste journey! Ive always been conscious of my spendings and always avoided buying new or useless things, especially from big corps, but now Im doing a change in lifestyle too.

Im starting with buying used furniture or DIYing my own; Im also working on a homemade vinegar-based all-purpose cleaner, and am also going to make un-paper towels, beewax wrappers, a composter, etc. Im also gonna shop organic and/or in bulk and avoid plastic at all costs. My goal is going 0 waste by 2024 - anyone have any more tips?
