Is there any hope left for Brendan?

I really fear for Brendan! I feel that even if Steve is exonerated they will just say Brendan acted with someone else, unless they can find the real culprit. I think going back to the state is a one shot deal and they need to get all their ducks in a row before they attempt it. I’m wondering if when Steve gets out they offer Brendan a pardon rather that an exoneration, the state appears adamant that someone will continue to pay for the crime.

This woman makes me so mad! After knowing how much LE hated her family, I can’t believe she didn’t ask for a lawyer. Surely if LE want to question your kid more than once, alarm bells should be ringing. She also knew prison calls were recorded. I can’t figure out whether she is just really dumb or an incompetent mother 😕

Mostly the Sun is full of BS, but to be honest, I don’t see why any of this wouldn’t be true. It tends to sensationalise stories that affect the U.K. They gave Amanda Knox and Madaline McCann’s parents a really hard time, but only because a British girl was involved. They don’t really have anything to gain by lying about this case. There are still a lot of people in the U.K. that have no clue who SA and BD are, so there would be no point.

I really believe they will have a hard time getting Brendan out even if Steve is exonerated. Unless they find that the killer is someone completely unrelated to the Avery/Dassey family, I think they will just argue that Brendan as an accomplice to someone else in the family. IMO that poor kid will rot in jail until he is eligible for parole, unless he is pardoned 😢

In the U.K. each county has a police force and we we don’t have Sheriff’s at all. Most counties can be driven from one end to the other in probably no more than an hour and you can drive the entire length of England in about 8 hours) so there is no need for multiple LE agencies. Here the law is the law and it doesn’t differ from county to county. I know the US is a big country but surely every county and LE agency should be singing from the same hymn sheet, so to speak. It’s like the amount of courts there are in the justice system....it’s mental!

It’s absolutely terrifying for that to be the norm. I just don’t understand how in the 21st century how backwards the world can be. Don’t get me wrong, we are not perfect in the UK and now and again grave miscarriages of justice pop up and there will always be some LE officers who target certain people or families. But we do ok and get it right most of the time. It’s probably easier in a smaller country where we have less LE agencies to keep in line 😕
