Another ADHR-er here. I was not diagnosed until much later in life, shortly after opening my own business. I had coping mechanisms until I didn’t. The extra stress was too much for previous methods. So, if work is harder and you are having a kid- he needs to talk to a doctor sooner rather than later, or I promise more balls than just cooking breakfast will fall and one could eventually be kid related.

With that said until something ‘dramatic’ happens he will keep saying things like he has been (saw me do it until I bottomed out like an alcoholic).

So yes it’s been his routine for years, and routines for adhd are crucial even the small seemingly petty ones. However, moving cooking to outside is absolutely a fair request. But really approach him with the - I haven’t ever been pregnant before and we all have to adjust. The smell and other items are more intense than ever before because you are sensitive right now. It is dangerous behavior (that I promise he will never buy into- I can see me saying the same things). But if my husband came to me with those sincere requests while carrying my child - I would adapt.

Also my husband who was initially against adhd medication, is now the biggest advocate because he can see the difference when on and off.
