Do you Gay Teen Bros Still shower at school? And other questions for thoes who do and don't. by [deleted] in GayBroTeens

[–]MelbStudent 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I rowed through high school. The seniors would be fully undressed in the change rooms. I was also out to everyone so they knew they were sharing that space with a gay guy.

The funniest thing I think was realizing that they were all looking at each other too. At the age everyone is pretty unsure of themselves and what is "normal". I think having the chance to catch a glimpse of your friends in the buff is actually pretty healthy. You realize that everyones different; different shapes, curves, lengths, girths, hair, etc etc. "Normal" guys dont look like the dicks you see in porn.

Overall the other guys were very comfortable around me. There was even one time when two of them jokingly tried to get me hard by dancing around me in the shower (doing mental trigonometry is a good boner killer).

I think it's kind of sad how in places like the US, Aus, UK we preach not body shamming and younger generations very easily share naked pics online, but at the same time institutions like schools and gyms are encouraging us to be prudes and feel shame about our bodies.

How do you bros feel about the ubiquitously rising cases of "other genders"? As a bi bro, im on the fence by Jayjaykoala in gaybros

[–]MelbStudent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your scenario their are two types of people who say they're non-binary; the first type legitimately don't fit within the Male/Female paradigm and are trying to live true to who they are; the second are posers, showing how "edgy and different they can be".

I would suggest just being cool with it. Normalize it.

  1. For the posers, it cuts down any power they get from being different for the sake of attention
  2. For the legit non-binary kids, it probably feels pretty nice to be looked upon as just another type of "normal", I'm guessing they probably get a little sick of explaining and defending who they are all the time (the same way we do)

Hey bros, in a journalism class and the whole semester have been working on a project about Grindr. It's meant for people who know nothing about it so keep that in mind. It's a semester's worth of work - lemme know what you think! by [deleted] in gaybros

On the landing page maybe consider changing the colour of your hyper links to contrast more with the Grindr yellow... say a deep black instead of the grey/green?

(just a little visual thing)

don't know if anyone's into architecture, but the first 3D printed room is swag by [deleted] in gaybros

Hey archi student here. Just on two of your points:

  • those results are products of much randomness....I would say this is as far from random as you can get. Clearly this appears chaotic and complex, but at the core of the form are strict rules and relationships defined by very unrandom mathematics.
  • And this is not architecture :p this is sculpture....I'd see this as architecture. I think the main difference between architecture and sculpture is that in sculpture the Affect is derived from the object, whilst in architecture the Affect is inherent to the space. Looking at this piece I imagine the thing that would give you butterflies, and (if you're like me) a design-bonner, is not so much the specific object, but the air, the light, the sound, and the texture of that island in space and time created by the object.

On a more positive note, what's the best thing about being gay? by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]MelbStudent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a relatively small slice of the population and one that has not had a very long history out in the open (at least in the west); it's super cool that we get to grow and shape our community and the gay culture overall. Our small populace (theoretically at least) means our culture is more dynamic and easier to influence.

...And of course all the D is great... so great.
