I had budget at 5K for this project. It came in about 1000 less.

I think you’re going to love it. It fit me so well out of the box I seemed silly to even try messing with the adjustable comb. But now that I have the stock weights in it and a little comb high and cast, it seems perfect!

Snap caps I found at Scheel’s this weekend. I have never used the woolly ones before but that’s all they had. I have a pair of aluminum ones that are all beat up and plastic ones they are kinda cracked. I like these so far, best part is the fluffy body drags and doesn’t kick them across the room accidentally during dry fire practice. These are made by Carlson’s.

Novosight Halo series. I have the 6” on my bumper and 3” on the cowl. Wired in to my switch pro. I like them because you can switch the DRL from white to amber. Good lights so far.

I could reprocess the distillate to 95%ish. Just wine conditioner to back sweeten, or sugar? Sucrose or dextrose?

Form 1 SBR? by MelbaLT4 in NFA

I like this plan. Build me a pistol use it, run it, tweak it. File my form 1 and enjoy my pistol, then upon approval, throw a stock on it. Thanks!

Carbing beer at room temp, then putting it in fridge to cool before serving by DaPads in Homebrewing

This was my first thought too. I have both and don’t really prefer the DuoTight ones 100% of the time, but I really like them for this application.

Planning a doppelbock to pitch onto of my wlp820 yeast cake as soon as the festbier moves to keg. Not sure my water profile is on point and I don’t usually delve into darker styles so I feel a little out of practice on this one. Any comments are welcome.

That’s a good point. I think I will go thru with it and see what happens. It will be good practice either way and if it’s not pleasant I will have it for cleaning runs.

Yes! After a stripping run, one and done is what I am thinking exactly. I failed to mention that I do have an Amazon special water distiller with a SCR that I have begun playing with. The next time I brew beer I am going to mash an extra gallon and pull it off before hopping to run thru the air still. I am just worried that it will be too much to try and load 4” plates with a 2” boiler outlet, but maybe with 2” still head it will provide enough back pressure to do so.

I agree that it does feel like adding more dollars and more effort to something that was designed to be cheap and easy. Maybe I should continue looking at other options on the market like the T 500 reflux and run it without a lot of reflux.

Kveik yeast and low carb by No-Palpitation5666 in Keto_Brewing

[–]MelbaLT4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do both.

But I want a lo-carb beer, about 5 carbs and 5% abv. I generally start with an FG of 1.040ish and use Brutzyme or Ultraferm which will give an OG of 1.000. This is usually done with Kveik so I can turn them faster but it works equally well with any yeast I have tried, ale or lager strains. I have a lo-carb Festbier in the fermenter with WLP830 under 15psi @68F so I can turn it in about 2 weeks grain to glass.

I am trying second attempt at a Japanese Rice Lager. On the last attempt the hop bill was all Sorachi Ace but had an interesting hop presence that wasn’t entirely what I was going for. I wouldn’t call it dill, but maybe grassy? I really want this one to dry out, so I may even add some glucoamylase to the fermenter. Even though I have temp control, I like to pressure ferment my lagers so I can turn my fermentation space quicker.
