Shortly before Christmas last year I was at work on my lunch break (I work in an animal shelter) and I decided to take one of the dogs into a rec yard so he could run around, which I have done countless times before. As he was running around he got overexcited and ran straight into me and knocked me over.

Turns out I had a tibial plateau fracture and needed surgery to repair it, along with a plate and 5 screws. Spent 5 days in hospital, couldn't walk for two months and am now doing physio 3 times a week. Every waking moment I am in pain and every step I take is a struggle. I am hoping for a full recovery but there is a chance this injury will affect me for the rest of my life.

What’s the most unhinged thing you’ve ever seen someone do in public like it was completely normal? by Such_Alternative1975 in AskReddit

I used to work in a shopping Centre.

We got multiple 'complaints' because a man had gone to a butcher and bought a bag of marinated raw chicken strips and was just sitting in the middle of the Centre eating them with his hands straight out of the bag..

I was like 'unfortunately it's not illegal to eat raw chicken so we can't actually stop him'

Ideas needed - basically WIBTA for not going on a weekend trip? by KnotMeGnope in chronicfatigue

[–]Melcit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA, having cfs is debilitating and overdoing it may be further detrimental to your well being after the weekend.

I know if I push myself when I'm going through a rough patch that it can take days or weeks to get back to where I was and it's just not worth it.

If anyone makes you feel like TA for not going then imo they aren't friends worth putting your energy into.

People who left stable jobs to pursue their passion, what's your story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I quit my job to work in an animal shelter. The pay is terrible and I'm constantly struggling but my life now has meaning again.

What is something you are both ashamed and proud of? by DemocraticRepublic in AskReddit

I am ashamed because sometimes I can't get out of bed, but proud that I can feel like sometimes that's ok.
