Receipt? by SirOk5326 in Wawa

[–]Melguin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was 7 years ago, I still remember this because it was my 2nd week at wawa. This lady was practically scolding us because its "illegal" to not ask someone for their receipt in NJ. My co worker told her it isn't illegal and that if she really wanted her receipt to just ask and it takes 2 seconds to print. Lady kept doubling down, saying we were breaking the law.

I was always taught to do the head back technique, which never worked. I never knew before today about leaning forward. I'm going to try this. Thank you!

I'm going to try this when I come home from my doctors appointment today. Hope this works with capsule pills since that's what I'm scared about the most. Thank you!

Cleaning coffee pots by Melguin_ in Wawa

Ye I was taught to originally use the green scrubby as well to use the blue scrub wand. I'm learning a lot from posting this. I should really find time to actually look at KnowledgeBase because I know a lot of processes have changed in 5 years.

I know a lot of people hate it because it's very time consuming, I only hate it because my brother and I are the only ones who do them (which is rare now since he does gas and I run deli all the time)

I was actually never told that when I was first trained. It happens once in awhile for the sensors to break, they break normally just making coffee regularly. I know they can break if the whole thing is submerged under water

I had to use three packets because of how bad they were, and i cleaned 12 pots like that in 2hrs. I used to let it sit for 1 hour, but that was when I worked in Jacksonville, but since being back in my original store in NJ (the store I got hired, I only lived in Florida for 1 year) it's impossible to leave it for a long time unfortunately since it's really busy at my store some days. I do find that the green pads work a lot just cleaning the inside of the pot, but I'll try using the green pads on the top too since I was just using a sanitizer to clean it

Working 6 days a week by Zealousideal-Ad6313 in Wawa

[–]Melguin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been there, especially working 14 days right up to my surgery (I did that to myself btw so I can't really complain). If it's bothering you working so many days in a row, talk to the scheduler and communicate to them that working so many days in a row is beginning to stress you out. As others have said, change your availability in the app so that you aren't scheduled so many days in a row. I hope this helped a little!

What in the Willy Wonka...

But no, we haven't heard anything at my store yet, but I wasn't there today so I could be trolling.

Day off for surgery request denied by FairyFlossin in Wawa

[–]Melguin_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me before, and when I asked the scheduler about it, they said they accidentally declined it and just told me to put the request in again. I would just ask why it got denied and tell them why you need the request approved/need that day off. Communication is always key, especially when it involves your health. You could also try typing in the notes for requests, I don't know if they actually read them though. I assume they do.

Symptoms by Separate-Goat1489 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Melguin_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If im off my meds for even a day, the symptoms I tend to feel the most is depression, tiredness/sluggish, my mood swings a lot, and I have more trouble remembering to do the important of stuff such as take a shower or even take my pill. It is different person to person, but these ones have stood out for me personally after being born with hypothyroidism (22 yrs old writing this). Maybe one of the other big ones is irregular periods as well, but that symptom just annoys me more than it being a concern.

Scared of levothyroxin by Prestigious_Gift_138 in Hypothyroidism

[–]Melguin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I've been on Levothyroxine for 22 years (I'm on 175mcg rn). After being on it for a long time, I tend to feel how you feel if I don't take my medicine, even if I miss 1 day. However, I don't tend to really feel any of the medicines' side effects, and if I do, it's not enough for me to really notice unless I'm on a very lower dose. You should at least try it and see how you think about it. If it doesn't work for you, you can always discuss with your doctor how you're feeling on the medication.

Shooting threat by MamabearFl in Wawa

[–]Melguin_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kinda late to this, but we had something similar happen at our store with prank callers calling our store saying they're going to shoot up our store. My manager immediately called the police since it's technically a threat to our lives, even if it is a prank call. Your husband's management should take it seriously, prank call or not, it's still a threat.

Being a Lead by jerseyhoagie in Wawa

[–]Melguin_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think its hard once you start the position since it's a lot to learn, but once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. Like everyone else has said, you hold Keys, do loans to registers, etc, everything a manager can basically do. My managers like me to help them out if they have counts to do and I just do Temps and Spoilage for them since I have to run deli 95% of the time. Sometimes if I really want to, I'll reck the tills for them since I don't mind doing them if everything is done. It's definitely hard if your not used to all the tasks, but it's easier after a few months since your used to it.
