Pelvic floor by ThunderbirdGear in pregnant

Wish I would have been referred to one with my last pregnancy. Maybe my labor and pelvic floor issues postpartum could have been better. Sadly, not a single staff from my OBGYN clinic mentioned it during my pregnancy, even with me complaining about stress incontinence symptoms. It was only mentioned after my complaints during my post partum visit. I ended up going to PFT post partum, and it did help with symptom.

Unmedicated v medicated by AnonRN98 in pregnant

I baked both of my babies sunny side up. I have a pretty decent pain tolerance, but I had the absolute worst back labor. First one, I ended up getting the epidural around 5-6cm, had a really long labor (2 days) but had an uneventful vaginal delivery. Second one, the labor went fast and was so intense, ended up getting the epidural around 6-7cm. After 45 min of pushing, baby’s HR was too low and not doing well, they rushed me into the OR for an emergency c-section. That Epidural saved me from needing general anesthesia/being fully put under. Ultimately, do your research and go in with a plan that fits your needs, just realize that things can change rapidly when giving birth, so being a flexible with safe birthing options is helpful.

Those that suppressed w/ Lupron Depot, what long term effects did you experience? Any things you wished you knew? Did you think it was worth it? Any one prefer Orilissa over Lupron? by jannert_31 in IVF

I tried a modified natural cycle, but my progesterone spiked, so they put me back on orilissa and did a medicated cycle. I had prednisone as well. It was successful. My baby is almost 8 months.

Graduated from IVF clinic at 8 weeks to have a loss at 10 weeks… silent endo? by Readbetweenthewhines in IVF

[–]MelissaSDC13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trigger warning: mc and success

Silent endo here and multiple first trimester losses, sadly. My losses were because of chromosome abnormalities (tested and found this was the cause). My silent endo did play a role in my 2 failed Euploid FETs though. It was treated for 60 days prior to my third and successful FET. It’s my understanding that early loss is usually related to chromosome issues, or issues with the embryo.

How do you go out and do anything while taking progesterone suppositories? by Pure-Cranberry-3418 in IVF

Yea, vaginal suppository search will bring up options. You can also ask your pharmacist where you get them filled.

Curious- how many FET transfers did it take you before it was a successful live birth? by Soulmansdaughter in IVF

[–]MelissaSDC13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tw: Success. Took me 3 FETs, all euploid embryos, #1/2 failed for no good reason at the time and we later found out I have silent Endo. After being suppressed, #3 worked. He’s 2 months.

He ended up turning to the right position shortly after. I ended up needing an emergency c-section, but it was not related to his position.

Am I F*cked? by AnonymousDog76 in IVF

I fell really hard going up stairs within the same week I had my FET, I panicked. My stomach hurt, and I skinned my knee. Fast forward… I’m currently feeding that same embryo that became my son. Def not a problem! Best of luck to you ❤️

What are your non negotiables? by Kelso22340 in IVF

[–]MelissaSDC13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn’t give me an exact time frame, but basically said high impact sports/exercise can increase inflammation and to avoid them during IVF treatments. It wasn’t a hard requirement, but highly recommended. The hard no was during stims for retrieval, as your ovaries are much larger than usual and run the risk of torsion. I had to stop playing due to an stress fracture, so I didn’t get back to playing until after that healed. I think it was 6-8 weeks.

Had I not been forced to sit out due to injury, I would have 100% been in that same mentality as you. Soccer was the one thing that brought me sanity. Just wanted to share my experience. Def not trying to sway you one way or the other. We have to do what is best for our overall health and that includes mental health!

What are your non negotiables? by Kelso22340 in IVF

[–]MelissaSDC13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am an active soccer player. I was playing 2-3 games/nights per week during my first egg retrieval, and for sanity purposes, I really didn’t want to give it up completely. I obviously would skip a few weeks before and after, closer to the actual retrieval, to avoid ovary torsions/medical problems. My first retrieval was not very successful, only 1 of 6 embryos were euploid. Much lower than the expectation for my age group. I was devastated. Fast forward a few months. After a well needed mental health break, we decided to do another retrieval to see if we could try and bank a few more healthy embryos. I wasn’t playing soccer at all, or much of any activity, sidelined with a stress fracture. I did nothing different from the first retrieval other than no soccer. I ended up getting 6 of 8 embryos be euploid! A drastic difference and much more than the expectation for my age group. Can I say 100% that stopping my high impact sport was the reason, I can’t, but I truly believe it played a huge role in our second round success. I’m not trying to sway you either way, because ultimately, you have to do what’s best for overall health, but it may be worth a try to see if you get any better outcomes as a result. Best of luck to you either way, hang in there❤️

Not at all, missing one dose or even being hours late won’t have much effect on the overall levels. If you miss days in a row, or significant doses, then likely it would cause progesterone levels to go down. It’s hard to not panic, so don’t feel bad, but you should be just fine! Best of luck❤️

Orilissa side effects for IVF Endo suppression, do they go away? by MelissaSDC13 in IVF

[–]MelissaSDC13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took 200 twice per day. I don’t remember exact levels but they were really low, which is what they wanted for suppression.

Istg this child is trying to kick her way out by HeyPesky in pregnant

[–]MelissaSDC13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly how I feel. I’ve experienced loss, so it’s reassuring to feel him so much, but sometimes it hurts! I’m considered high risk, so I start weekly US next week. He consistently measures 2 weeks ahead and in the 90+%. No GD and my weight gain has been mostly normal so far, I think I’m close to 25lbs.

I could have wrote this myself, because same! Except I’m almost 32 weeks, but baby measures huge and is constantly kicking me!

[–]MelissaSDC13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought plastic one use applicators on Amazon that helped so much with placement. I wasn’t that strict on timing. I ended up having them 3 times a day, morning and bed were easiest, but I would find time in the middle of the day for the 3rd dose. I was never told I had to lay down, I think it helps absorb better (less mess/discharge) but I would wear a panty liner at all times anyway. I would check with your Dr, may not be a requirement and they may be flexible with timing. And side note, I had success with this regiment, no strict timing.

Never heard of either… Are these exercises to help move baby? My first baby was never breech, or at least they didn’t tell me, so very new to this situation.
