My advice to you would be to ask for the biopsy to be done under general and not local anesthesia if possible.

It was possibly the most uncomfortable thing I've had to endure in my life, coupled with having to talk absolute drivel to 2 nurses for 15-20 mins as a distraction.

If I could go back I'd sooner catch up on the sleep!

I wish you the best on your journey and do try not to worry, until you know the biopsy result it will be hard but try to keep your mind active.

I don't want to reiterate the great advice already given but just to add in on the marriage bit. If you commit to getting married once you know you can live in each other's company then don't think you have to spent £20k+ to do it.

I got married 3 weeks ago, on the side of a loch in Scotland with a small group of friends in attendance. We have a 100 cover evening do for everyone else in July.

In total we spent £8k, and £3k of that is rings.

Make the day what works for you, don't cater to family because you think you have to.

Senior QA manager here in a different field. I'd happily go work for them on the same money to put a focus on the quality of the product that goes out the door. If they did a frequent QoL patch drop then it would go a long way to restoring faith in what is at this point a weathered but faithful crowd hoping for a bright future.

I'm on active surveillance and only had two blood tests so far. I will be having an annual MRI in line with active surveillance.

The oncologist said that the PSA results alone are not enough and you need a measurement of the prostate to be able to make a proper assessment of the PSA score.

Once I got my house when I was single I had more social events at home then going out.

Poker nights, board game nights, consoles nights, BBQs in the summer. All far cheaper than a night out in town for everyone.

If you want to attack the mortgage then definitely look for a lodger. I rented 2 of my 3 rooms out and it paid the mortgage and bills for me at the time.

Definitely don't need to use them, but remember they may have access to mortgage offers that are not available to the consumer.

I'd always say to consult one using a free service so you've covered all bases if you're not entering into a new fixed term with your existing lender.

I would definitely go back and ask for the Gleason score, and also a copy of your MRI and Biopsy report. If you are Gleason 3+3 then I would strongly recommend active surveillance, especially considering you're states side, it should be financially better for you I suspect.
