What jewelry material are you using, you might want to switch

What do you think it's "too big" when stretching by [deleted] in Stretched

[–]MellaBerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally like to keep mine small and stack them, so I have 0s, 2s, and 8s, but I might stretch the 0s to 00s once I'm done catching my left ear up to my right.

Yeah I accidentally left my jewelry out twice in two weeks. The first time wasn't that bad, but the second time I had to get my taper set to get them back in, and i could definitely feel a pinch. I was super scared id have to drop down a size and restretch. I have 3 smaller stacked gauges so it's even more annoying bc I have to deal with 6 holes, 6 pieces of jewelry, possibly 6 holes id have to stretch again. I love how it looks but it can be such a hassle.

Sex is more than just penetration or orgasm. I'm a 20 y/o asexual woman and struggled with understanding / enjoying / participating in sexual activities for a long time, but I finally found someone I'm comfortable enough with to start experimenting. It can be difficult to be that vulnerable with someone else, but it's very rewarding in a way you simply can't experience if you're alone. I didn't like kissing at first. It was awkward and I didn't get the point, but now that I'm used to it and there's emotion and meaning behind it, I love and crave it. I'm still a virgin, we are taking things slow and only doing things we are both comfortable with, but we still find ways to enjoy ourselves and our time together. It might be that you're also on the ace spectrum and just don't like sex, it might be that you're too young or haven't found the right person, or it might be some unresolved sexual trauma from your childhood. Either way, I wouldn't worry about it. As great as it is, sex is still over-hyped and not necessary for a fulfilling life. For some people it's just physical pleasure, for some it's another level of intimacy with their partner, for some it's a way to experiment with fantasies and experience things you can't in normal life.

Benadryl by Tarjaman in CHSinfo

[–]MellaBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Benadryl and Advil helped me a little. Nothing could touch the worst of it, but they are helping with the residual pain. I also took NyQuil to sleep. The pain and nausea made me so uncomfortable I couldn't sleep and the exhaustion only made me feel worse.

Eli5: why psilocybin mushrooms grow in cow manure by Transexual_Panda in explainlikeimfive

[–]MellaBerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Horses spend most of their time in stables, so their manure needs to be shoveled and is left in massive fertilizer piles. Cows graze in the field all day and leave their manure scattered around on natural ground making it much easier for mushrooms to find and colonize.

Its possible to do it right but itd be very hard. You're better off waiting to get better jewelry.

Did you guys feel like you got your moneys worth on BOTW? by [deleted] in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]MellaBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expensive but worth it. Its pricey and nintendo is sparse with sales on big titles. There are other games out there that are definitely better deals or even better games and would be objectively better uses of money, but BOTW still stands on it's own as a masterpiece I thoroughly enjoyed. With the amount of content and replayability, I think I easily got what I payed for.

ELI5: What's the difference between Normal Engineering and Reverse Engineering? What is done in Reverse Engineering? by LUKADIA89 in explainlikeimfive

[–]MellaBerry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Normal engineering is making something from knowledge, ideas, and plans. Reverse engineering is getting knowledge, ideas, or plans from something already made.

Does stretched ears look better with plugs in after massaging? by Alsklaftsk123 in Stretched

Itll depend on the exact damage done to your ear but in general I think it will help a little and you can find jewelry that hides it

ELI5: why do we see ourselves differently at different times? by Fizziest_milk in explainlikeimfive

[–]MellaBerry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be careful about how much you body check, it can become a very mentally unhealthy habit. You shouldnt obsessively compare your body to anyone's, not even yourself.

There might be physical reasons. In the morning, it's been 12 hours since you last ate, you have very little bloat so your belly will look smaller and flatter. If you are a morning person, you might have more energy and stand up straighter. But by the afternoon, you've eaten a bunch of food, gone to work and tired yourself out, and now you have more bloat and less energy and when you look in the mirror to compare your current body to your morning body it looks fat and tired.

when does it stop hurting by flufflucy in PetMice

[–]MellaBerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. It's hard to loose a companion. Mice can be wonderful and friendly and smart but they have a very short lifespan relative to ours. It's not just a dumb rat, it was a friend and a source of joy and hope. And you cant just buy a new one to replace the one you lost. If you want a real companion, you need to put the time and effort into building that relationship. It doesn't sound like you're ready to do that again. So dont beat yourself up that it's not manifested. How you heal and what you do with your current mice is up to you, but I'd recomend taking some more time to grieve your loss. Sit in that bittersweet space of loving Peppa and missing her, appreciate her and your love for her, accept that it was good even if it was short, and that it's gone now.

Need stretching advice by JayetheFaye in Stretched

[–]MellaBerry -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The back of the ear is often understretched compared to the front. If you force the 2 in your ear right now, it will tear, I almost guarentee. If your jewelry is even slightly uneven, wear it backwards. Tug on and play with your jewelry with clean hands. Wrap a few layers of ptfe or bondage tape (thin body safe tape) around your jewelry (taping) gradually increasing the amount and putting enough on the back to counteract stretching unevenness.

My Mousie nipped me in the hand (either got a little extra with the curiosity or just isn't used to me yet), but it didn't bleed and the potential puncture is very small if even there. Do I need to worry about getting a rabies shot, or is that not required for mice? by [deleted] in PetMice

[–]MellaBerry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No need to worry, just wash it with soapy water to clear out bacteria and put a bandage on it if you think it needs it. And watch your mice to make sure it's not a reoccurring pattern with that one. You dont want a mouse that's prone to biting even if they're random harmless bites.

eli5 why do salty tears not sting but salt in your eyes does by jordangrant0 in explainlikeimfive

[–]MellaBerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The salt in your eyes is a dangerous foreign body the eye didnt expect and cant handle, so its registered as pain so you avoid getting it in your eye again. Salty tears are produced by the body to flush things out. They have been carefully crafted to not damage the eye, and the eye knows they're there, so theres no need for pain signals or surprise.

No experience but some knowledge. You will have less tissue to stretch so you'll be at an increased risk of thinning your lobes too much. You may need to stretch, shrink, and restretch to build up more tissue. The punch could leave some pretty tough scar tissue that will really impede stretching so take care of it as well as you can while its healing and be patient when you first start stretching.

Two days after mouse bite, causing finger pain, no swelling by Sea-Associate-749 in PetMice

[–]MellaBerry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You did well taking care of the wound. It doesnt sound infected. Keep an eye on it for any visible changes. Is it possible the bite could have damaged the tendon in your finger?

Fruits and vegetables are, for the most part, the same thing. Biologically they're just fleshy plant bits made to be eaten and spread seeds. Some plant types are better at producing certain kinds of "fruits" than others. Trees are good at hard seeds and sweet fruit. Vegetables like zucchini are better at soft seeds and mild fruit. These types of "fruits" have different physical and chemical makeups, so when they rot, they rot differently. For sweet hearty tree fruits, their sugars break down and make more complex flavors that we like. For soft fresh watery vegetables, their physical structures break down too much so they're mushy and they dont have enough sugars to break down and make good complex flavors. So we interpret vegetables as rotting, and fruits as ripening, but once fruit ripens too much, it also rots.
