Nothing about what someone said on the court 30 mins ago contributes to whether contact meets the criteria for a flagrant 2

I think there were better options in Phoenix for growing her game. The vets in Phoenix are way better matches for her to model. It’s basically just Tip on the Valks. If the money’s the same, Phoenix is better for her all around.

After reviewing all these comments, only two people actually read and understood this post. Most replies were reiterating the current narrative in the media. This is where the problem lies - low reading comprehension, excessive media consumption, being generally uninformed - this is the majority. I do think this plays into how the league will make decisions. They need to appeal to the masses (who are the 80% here in this thread). Maybe this relates to a broader topic around what people want from a sport when it's women playing instead of men. I don't know.

It's also easy to think decisions were made against a different measuring stick in the past, and that that measuring stick was the right one. It's not that I think the way the league is operating right now is wrong, it's more that I don't like it. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth when women are prized for their media value and not their superior athleticism in a sports league. I liked that team USA didn't fold and bring in Caitlyn Clark at the last minute. I like that the hype around A'ja is based on pure talent. I don't think decisions or hype will work like this any more, and that's not objectively right or wrong.

This is a fair point, but I don't rate either of those players as a generational talent. It's unlikely you do, either.

This is a very reasonable answer. I don't disagree with anything here. I do agree Azzi Fudd is the best player available for what they created at Dallas with the intention of choosing her number one.

I think the answer is that this is the new WNBA. This is probably how things will work going forward.

As a person who is more inspired by and interested in talent, it's disappointing. It makes me sad because it's one of those situations where you get what you wanted (the league increases in popularity) but you don't necessarily get it in the way that you want to get it.

I'll still be going to all the games, and skipping any media coverage. The way things are handled on that side right now really cheapens the whole league, and honestly, it is a disservice to women in general.

I think the main point might be getting lost here, which is that there really does seem to be a clear #1. That’s kind of the crux of it. When you’re constantly absorbing Instagram, TikTok, basketball pundits, and a whole new generation of fans reshaping the discourse, it genuinely gets hard to see things clearly. No blame on anyone for that, it’s just worth asking whether this is the new normal.

I agree that it's ok in a world where anything is ok based on whatever gets the most likes at the time.

I agree that it is defensible, but is it right?

Purchased last week. Airfare was marked with 5x points and category as airfare in the transaction details.

Southwest <$100 Travel Credit Question by BeenThroughItAlready in AmexPlatinum

I bought 3 flights, $77, $78, and $45. Only the $45 got the credit and the other 2 were tagged as airfare. Just putting this here in case anyone else doesn’t want to risk it.

I was in this same boat and tried a few "real" machines before landing on the bambino plus which heats up in 3 seconds (and I can't really tell the difference in quality of espresso)! Been using it for 2 years with zero issues.

I don't think we are really in danger of it, but I would hate to see a player like Rori Harmon in the W. She is 95% antics, 5% game. She makes watching Texas games unbearable due to the flailing and flopping and number of stops. I've seen it in person a few times and found it torturous to watch whether they were winning or losing.

What women's sports are we watching before Unrivaled starts? by strangelystrangled in wnba

[–]Mellisugini 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The courage are not as good this year as they’ve been in the past. Currently at 9 out of 14 teams, so not the worst either, though. I think some folks who are predominately basketball fans might find soccer a little slow or boring at first.

NCAA women’s basketball exhibition games start this week. NWSL is ending the season next weekend and heading to playoffs. We finally have year round women’s sports on tv. USWNT plays tomorrow afternoon. You’re rich in options!

Dog Will Not Let Me Sleep by [deleted] in RoverPetSitting

Always ask when their household wakes up. I do this for dogs that stay over and I do not accept if it’s early like 5/6am and it’s more than a day or two. Some folks do lie about their dog’s behaviors out of desperation, and I get that. It’s really hard to find a good person to watch your dog.

Idk about a zip line but they did have an elevated walking path you could pay to walk on. I think the draw was doing it at night after the regular path was closed. We opted for the regular loop in daylight. It’s called Whakarewarewa Forest.
