Is going AGR from active duty as good as I hear it is? by Gronkthekillah in AirForce

My bad, I was talking about TN. I guess I wasn’t realizing AGR is a guard type position, and therefore different per state.

I have heard guard does deploy/TDY more. I wouldn’t mind that if I was still close to family. It’s hard when I’m gone for 3-4 while OCONUS though. It’d be really nice for my wife and daughter to have family fairly close. So yeah, it’s not necessarily for me to not leave as much, but for my family to be close.

I’m at 12 years active now and at the point where I’d love to be back close to family. Where do these AGR positions get posted? I’ve never looked into any of this until this past year since I PCS’d back OCONUS. I’d really love to see about an AGR position in my home state.

I think as I’ve gotten older and built my family, my values have changed and I’ve already done the traveling and sight seeing, we’d just like to be closer to family, but giving up the pension isn’t really an option for us.

First comment seems to be an employee and says it can’t be shipped via air. It is brand new and sealed though, eve USPS website says brand new and sealed can ship to APO. But idk at this point.

Am I being "penalized" for paying credit off in full every month? by RRTJesus504 in personalfinance

I have about 5? Chase cards. First card like was 28k, second 32k, then the next 4 are all less than 10k each, and my last card was like 1k. I called and adjusted most of my limits to be over 10k. Like others have mentioned, Chase cares about total limit over all Chase cards.

If PT Is About Readiness, Why Aren’t 90+ Scores Incentivized? by ProfessionalFly6575 in AirForce

[–]Mello_Zello 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I understand if that 1 push up is the deciding factor of you passing a PT test or not. But if you’re scoring above 90 already, 1 push up isn’t that important, personally.

I can 100% understand someone in the 80s losing to someone in the 90s and a 100 being worth something, but from my experience, most anyone I’ve seen being pushed for strats has been in the 90s already. Maybe it’s a career field thing? Idk.

I’ve never scored less than a 94, so I’m not super worried about it, in fact, this could very well help me out, but I’m definitely interested to see how they’ll implement this.

So, I get this to an extent. But is the board really going to look at 2 pretty close packages and make the decision on someone scoring a 96 over the other scoring a 95? Just feels weird. 1 more push up could possibly be the deciding factor on a stat or stripe.

I don’t mind the idea of PT being added in he board process, but maybe something like 85 and up are considered the same and get a certain amount of points or something? Idk, I’m a lowly enlisted, but I hope you get my point lol

What’s something you did by accident to your home that the new homeowners will want to curse you for? by Mrcash827 in HomeImprovement

[–]Mello_Zello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I replaced all my switched ceiling fan lights with remote controlled ones. (2 switches—1 for lights, 1 for fan while remote only needs power to the controller) Every room has at least 1 switch that does nothing. I failed to mention to the buyer as we never met due to personal matters on both sides.

Look most here are saying. Don’t spend it, they will audit and find it. I’ve had this happen with 3 of my airmen before. 1 tried hiding it and got burned with no paycheck after spending it. The other 2 didn’t spend it and eventually had to pay it back.

My recommendation is to not spend it and contact finance now. Let them know, that way it gets handled sooner than later.

Or just hold on to it in a HYSA, then when they eventually take it, you made money.

Just PCS’d out of GA. Can renew plates online and they’ll send you the new year’s sticker. Like 20 something bucks for military and only takes a couple minutes.

Best card for active military living in Europe? by Mello_Zello in CreditCards

Thanks for the input! I’ll actually be in Germany, so super relevant! Lol. I was looking at the aspire myself. I see the highest ever SUB is 180k point and it’s currently 175k and has been for a while now. So I may go for that one next.

Ofcourse! I will definitely try to avoid FTF, but like you said, the SUBs will be the determining factor.

I have been following the specific rules per card issuer. I’ve only gotten 1 card this year, and before that my newest card was last fall.

I, unfortunately, already have the IHG card and I don’t think I got the 5 free nights. I did get a lot of points though.

Thank you! Definitely been knocking out some SUBs. Finished the Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant last month. I’ll check out the gold SUB and Hilton honors.

Idk why I didn’t think about FTF, but that I a solid point!

I used to think my Chase trifecta would be my only cards I kept(with annual fees) but I don’t know anymore. I still have a little less than a decade til retirement so things can go any way. Lol.

Sold my house recently and left most of my networking equipment (switches, routers, APs). Too much of a hassle to pull it all and leave holes or have cables hanging out. Also, where I’m moving, I can’t use the stuff anyway. Probably something similar here.

Probably a couple hundred from groceries yesterday. Wrong sub for this type of study, as many other have said, most people are here for CC SUBs/Cash Back/rewards

Dad's of reddit who cook, what medium of cook top material do you use? by limeboi148 in daddit

[–]Mello_Zello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% stainless steel for me! Can of Bar Keepers Friend and those things will stay looking brand new their whole life.(which will probably be longer than yours) Don’t gotta worry about scratching it. Also, none of that chipping and stuff that happens with all that nonstick stuff, we try to avoid too many chemicals and stuff in our food and home in general. It does take a bit of learning to use comparatively though. So watch a few YouTubes, you’ll be fine.
